Ungrateful

So after my little rant the other day when I told my mom about it she said she was ashamed of me. This isn't the first time either. She's told me that countless times over the years. She's probably justified in saying this. My work partner for example is living on her own, working the same amount of hours as I am (but not getting paid the same salary) and has a brain tumor, and she doesn't complain. I, on the other hand, have been (and still am) privileged to still be living at home, have a job and be of sound body and mind, and I whine, whinge and moan. I guess I'm just an ungrateful, selfish, whiny drama queen who doesn't deserve or is grateful for anything he gets. Sorry for wasting your time.

That's not true. Sometimes it's hard to count our blessings, and different things affect us different ways. We all have different temperaments and break at different things.

Its not uncommon for someone to whine about some things that happen, no matter how trivial they are. Besides, the fact you point out that you think you are ungrateful is an act of gratitude in itself, in a small sense. You should give yourself more credit than that. Nonetheless, I will pray for you, your mother, and your coworker.

Welcome to the human race. We don't deserve anything we get, nor are we usually grateful for it. I definitely count myself as one who is rarely as grateful as I should be.
Yet, God still continues to give us all blessings because He loves us so much, even when we screw up again and again and again, etc.
I apologize, I haven't been posting in your prayer threads much. But, I have been reading them.
I'll be praying and I hope things look up for you, Rigg

hahaha You're not a drama queen. You'd have to be a drama king if we're going to be gender-correct, lol.
But seriously, we all complain. I'm no different. I have to repeat what goldenspines said. Hey, guess what? This is good time to go and count your blessings. That doesn't mean there aren't things to complain about. (I mean, really, just because someone doesn't complain doesn't mean they couldn't.) We work within the life God gives to each of us. If we don't like it, we don't just "deal with it", we wish it were better. And it does get better - when we seek God's will.
God bless you, Rig
