Confusion

Postby Phantom_Sorano » Mon Jul 06, 2009 11:25 am

Hey guys.

My friend who is letting me live with her just came and told me my father might have just had a stroke, and is on his way to the hospital now. My mother, who called, is apparently too angry with me to tell me herself.

I left my family behind recently to pursue my own life and chance for happiness. Since then, I have been fighting with my family over what little contact we have had.

Now I am confused. Do I go and see my father or is it a trap? Do I even want to see him? We never got along, and he always resented me, but I am still torn over what to do.

Nevertheless, please pray for him. He is far from the Christian ideal, and has hateful and cruel as he is, I don't want something bad to happen to him. Thanks.

I am praying too. I think that you should see your father, whatever happens, and that this is the only way you can show him through your actions how Christ forgives. Even if nothing else changes, you still will have done the right thing.

But don't take my word for it. Keep reading scripture and praying for guidance, as we are praying for you and your family.

Update:

Although my mother isn't talking to me, my brother just called my friend. (He is mad at me aswell).

My father did in fact have a stroke. He is being transported to another hospital as I write. His upper chamber is filling with blood, and if not taken care of soon, will result in a massive heart attack or stroke.

I'm so unsure what to do. I want to make sure he is okay, but I don't want to confront my family who will be there. Even though he has acted like a complete....donkey towards me, part of me still cares about what happens to him.

Please please pray for him. The last thing I would ever want is for him to die without us making peace and him finding peace with God.

I'll be praying as well ^__^

I say go and see him :) I'm sure he'll really appreciate seeing you there ^__^

Remember, everything happens for a reason. Take this opportunity (?) to reconnect/reconcile with at least your dad if not all your family members ^__^

Please keep us updated :)

Aw, Soran, I wanna give you a big hug right now  I hope and pray that things will work out for you, and that your father will be alright.

I'd go and see him, however, I haven't been under the same circumstances as you and do not know what you're feeling, so it might be a little naive of me to say that...But I still think that it would be a good opportunity for you to meet him, and perhaps...talk a bit. This may be hard, but you have the strength of the Holy Father on your side!

Be sure to look for the Word for help, and I'll keep you in my prayers. :)

Lifting you and your family up in prayer.

I don't entirely know your situation, so it's hard for me to definitively say, "You should go," or, "You shouldn't." But I would encourage you to consider that he is the only earthly dad you'll have, and you won't be able to go back and change your decision. You can't control the actions of your family, but you can control your own actions. And who knows, it could open the door for healing to begin between you and some members of your family.

In any case, I'm praying for you that God will give you wisdom in this situation, to make the right decisions.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

Hey guys.

I went to see him. I was so sure he would be in bad shape, but he wasn't. My parents were trying to get me to fall in a trap and they succeeded.

Thanks again.

 Seriously, I can't believe that!!! (Well, I can, but you get the point XP) I mean, he's in the hospital for crying out loud! That is completely underhanded and very bad of your parents to take advantage of that situation in such a way! If I were you, I'd probably yell at them! I'd tell them off, and, and, and! :mutter:

Yeah. Sorry....I really feel sorry for you, Soran. I really want to give you a humungous hug right now! Well, there'll be plenty of time for hugs in Heaven! :thumb:

I'll continue praying for you and your situation
