I'm not asking for prayers, per se, this is more of a "help" sort of thing.
Although prayers would be nice.

For the past couple months, I've been working my behind off so that I can keep up my grades to get into University.
Two months ago I asked my parents if I could apply for early acceptance, and they said yes, so I filled out the form, only to find I needed to pay $150 to register, which is no big deal, I have lots of money, so I'm cool paying for it.
But I need a credit card to do so, and my parents keep saying "next week we'll do it" and when I ask the next week they go "god *%^&*() #$%^&* we said next week." and so on...
So, it's been two months that they've been saying "next week" , and I'm getting ticked off, because I missed the earlybird deadline for acceptance.

So, I confronted them about the situation, and they said that they need to pay off their credit card debt first, which I understand. So, I gave them the $150 in cash and told them that I just needed their credentials to apply.
And again, they said "next week".
It's really getting to me. I have the money- they have my money, but it's a situation I NEED their consent on. Usually I do everything myself- this is the one thing I need from them, and I can't get it... and it's pretty much my future.
It's scary because I'm applying to the top 3rd University in Canada, so I really really really need to get in, and I'm banking on getting in before the heavy competition starts.

Anyway...
How should I go about this?
Should I just... get a prepaid credit card? Or what?

Prayers about my parents financial situation and them paying off their debt would be great too.
I'm just... frustrated because so much is riding on this, and it's not going at all the way I planned...
anyway, thanks.

It's tough to say. I could say a couple of things, but they would entail bad behavior on you or your parents' part. I'd just say look at the weeks you have left. See if you have two left. Wait more than one week and don't ask them about it at all. Then on the second week ask them, and ask them in such a way that does not put them on the defensive. Whenever you put someone on the defensive, they see complying even with a promise as an embarrasing defeat. That's how my own parents are like, so I suggest this technique may be a solution.

Oh, and I'll say a prayer for you. I hope this works out. :)

I personally say that if they won't do it, get a prepaid Visa or something and do it yourself.

This is confusing, can't you pay the $150.00 via check or something? I never have a "need" for credit cards throughout my university years, they are just more convenient for online purchase. I suspect you have a misunderstanding with the application process, maybe you should call the university's office for options/clarification?

If it is for tuition, the OSAP loan should been enough to cover both your tuition and your residence rent if you are to live in dorm. You don't have to pay for tuition immediately, as long as you have signed a document for the university that you will pay them with the loan when it arrived.

No, its not for tuition- its just for the application.

Anyways.

So.
Its been like, two and a half, three weeks
And they're still saying "next week"

I inquired about getting my own credit card, but I'm under 18, and need parental consent.
So. I feel fricking screwed.

X,

You could get a prepaid Debit card (green card) through walmart or if you want, a free checking account at a local bank.

The site may say you need a debit/credit card but really you can get walmarts or like a said a bank can do it as well.

Hope this helps, praying
