2.5 week old neck/shoulder injury, need healing

Short answer: I hurt. It is affecting and is affected by other things. I'm not healing as fast as I would like and I'm going to hurt more. I want prayer. I'm frustrated and am wondering when I will get the movement back that I am missing.
Long story: So there is this muscle in the back of my neck/shoulder on the left side around where my neck attaches that was spasmed or something a couple weeks ago. I have not been able to tip my head directly to the left as much as before without pain, or backwards without pain, or turn to the right more than usually 45 degrees without pain. I've had an almost sharp pain in the back where my neck attaches and I remember when I tried to move more and stretch my neck more before, I had a feeling of what I imaging the muscle there wanting to tear would be like near my spine.
The doctor I saw at school said it was the muscle that supports my arms to allow me to type. Lucky me, I have all this typing to do for class projects due next week including one that is being presented on next week and I'm getting a C in one of those classes. It was painful to sit leaned over a test and I have two finals in two weeks (I do not expect to be fully healed by then) on the same day, which I may consider moving one of.
I think I slightly burned the skin with those stick on heating pads or did something to it, so I probably shouldn't do that all the time. I'm running out of my muscle relaxant, which is feeling a bit strong as of this weekend. The 600 mg Ibuprophen does minimal help in activities that cause pain. I may do a followup appointment there.
I've had someone suggest finding a massuse, a couple people online have suggested seeing a chiropractor, which appearantly is sometimes cheap for a first time visit, and I've wondered if acupuncture would help. Any advice on further treatment is appreciated. (Yes, I am a bit past the multiple variations of bengay-like creams/patches point.)
Also, I am overtired this week cause of a late night and stressed about my projects which both affect my ability to sleep.
