CAA Prayer Request

Hey guys. You know, over the last 24 hours, I've been picking up on some bad blood between members both on and off this forum, and the recent election results and our opinions thereof only brought them to the surface.
Remember guys, that we're all brothers and sisters in Christ. We are all drawn together by our love for the Lord. Sure we have our differences, heck, this fourm wouldn't be 1/2 as fun as it is now if we didn't, but we should NEVER allow that to go against each other.
So, I would like to make a prayer request for every single member of CAA. I pray that the Lord touches our hearts, removes any hate therein, and bring us back together.
Please forgive me if this makes no sense or if it sounds overly sappy, but this was on my mind.

This is definitely worth praying about. I certainly will, and I ask everyone here who has a quarrel with another member, remember, people can disagree on politics with good moral intention even if you think their views are wrong. Do not, whatever you do, demonize anybody.

Completely agreed. The country needs people of all different kinds, and so does CAA. The love of Christ is so much more important than any political views.

Agree....praying
"Lord please be with all of us and let us remember that the outcome was your holy will and that we should not let such a dispute get between the love in You Lord that we have for each other. In your name I pray, Amen"

This is why Politics is not allowed on here ^__^ It's not necessarily because we can't handle it.. It's mostly because everyone here has their own opinions. Some hold their opinions VERY highly, and if someone else doesn't agree with it.. It's going to stir up conflict >_>
Sooooooooooooooo, no more.. Please ^__^

Khaki, let me give you some great news about all of this.
I had been trying to leave politics for 2 years now. After the election on Tuesday, I mourned for 4 hours. Then, I looked out the window, a veil lifted from my eyes and it was like God was saying "I've got it under control, go and be non-political forever."
So, your prayer is timely, even if tensions and others go slowly (or in my case, very very quickly.)

However, conflict is also part of society. I personally think there is no harm for talking about politics as long as they follow strict guidelines, such as no personal insults, no derogation of others, no racist, sexist, or any form of discrimination. Often times, it is not the substances of a discussion that creates problems, but the attitudes of people.
Sadly, many people are used to an authorative approach to deal with conflicts, such as telling teachers in school or calling on others' parents. Being raised in a proud clan line, we were brought up to deal with hardships and struggles ourselves; otherwise we will have no chance in society. In fact, my father didn't even said a word when I was "convinced" to spend ten of thousands on risky stocks because it would be a good lesson for me. But this is getting out of topic...

A good point to bring up. We excel as people, as Christians, and as a country because of varying view points. Let us all be honest in our own views, ready to defend, but also ready to learn and adapt. And no view point is so important as to warrant personal attacks against individuals of opposing views. Let the views stand and fall on their own merits and not on the merits of those presenting them.
