Not sure how serious this is. . .

Postby LadyRushia » Tue Nov 04, 2008 3:34 pm

My friend just told me that her mom disowned her for voting for a certain candidate. I honestly don't know if it's just temporary anger or if her mom is serious, but please pray. It stuff like this that makes me hate politics. I told her that if doesn't get settled she can come stay with me on holidays and whenever I go home.

Don't even think about turning this into a debate.

I'll be praying for her ^__^

.....

Ouch. I really hope that her mom wasn't serious. Or that it was, at the very least, just an initial emotional reaction that they can work through.

I'll pray for her.

I hope so too, but she threatened to disown her before and today told her that she should've been aborted and that she isn't her daughter. Her dad is still on her side, though.

This is why I'm in the process of leaving the political establishment stuff altogether.

I'll pray for your friend.

Well, she says she's feeling better now, which is good. I don't think she's talked to her mom yet.

That's terrible. My sister voted against the norm in my family too, and she's not exactly popular. But nobody hates her, and nobody has said they'd stop loving her.

Perhaps the abortion bit was an extreme bit, but disowning someone? Wow... Some people really can't swallow other people disagreeing with them without those other people being evil.

I'll certainly pray for your friend. And I know my sister will too.

How terrible. No mother should ever say something like that to her child.

Apparently, her mom apologized through her father, so I guess everything is better for now.

My gosh. How someone can say something like that to their own child is beyond me. Definitely praying for your friend, and for her mother, too.
