Guidance

Let me say, first off, that God is great.
I'm going through a tough time right now. I'm fighting through a lot of difficulty currently. Let me tell y'all about it:
Every evening, for about an hour, I watch anime. In watching, I start thinking about God and lessons. So after I'm done, I read the Bible (I started with Matthew 4 1-11 last night, and I'm on 12-20 tonight.) It is during this time when I have realized just how clogged I've been with the world in my system.
My physical body is in disrepair. I haven't been exercising, and there's been a lot of junk food involved. I get to sleep near dawn, and sleep through the morning. During the day, I don't do much. I'd say that a lot of this is because of my lack of work, but that would just be an excuse. I just don't feel productive, which discourages me.
I've been at this (the anime -> Bible study -> prayer) routine for nearly a week now. And it feels good. But I know I need guidance, because I am unsure about what to do. So I ask all of you, if you are willing, to put me in prayer that God can guide me where I need to go.

I have been in a similar situation. It can be difficult to understand God's will or see his plan for your life. I pray that you will receive this guidance and trust God's will for your life.

Brother Sasaki - I'm praying for you. I'm glad you realize that some bad habits (junk food and lack of exercise) have put your body in a place that God does not want it - tired and actually a hindrance to some of the things He has for you.
I'm glad that you've established some good habits (like prayer and bible study) and paired them with something you like to do (there might be a nice unconscious psychological boost to this). I urge you to maintain these good habits - for it is bad habits that got you to where you are physically, and it is good habits (both spiritual and physical) that will get you to where God wants you to be.
Might I suggest that you try taking a walk for about a half hour each day after you read your bible. I've found that walking right after reading the bible leads nicely into prayer and alone time with God, where you can speak to Him, and where He often speaks to you. I think this will do a lot of good for you both spiritually and physically - both for the here and now, and for eternity.
You've reminded me of the fact that I've let myself slip physically as well - I'm not nearly as in shape as I used to be. Thanks for inspiring me to admit this to myself, and take some steps to fix it (I play hockey and softball, but am still overweight and out of shape). I'm gonna cut out junk food and soda, and perhaps start taking some of those "prayer walks" that I used to do but haven't for a long time.
Sadly, if we allow ourselves to get out of physical shape, we could be shortening the time we have on Earth to do great things for God's Kingdom - by opening ourselves up to heart disease, cancers, and other things. Also, the insecurity and guilt that can come with being overweight can be another thing that Satan can use to limit our witness and our effectiveness for Christ. I urge you not to let feelings like these keep you from enjoying fellowship with other Christians, and from participating in activities.
Everyone who comes to Christ comes with many problems and issues - some are just more visible than others. And if you continue on the path that I believe God is leading you, it is simply a matter of time that you deal with these issue (and many others) as the Lord gives you strength and courage to face them head on without making excuses, all the while accepting the fact that He loves you just the way you are, but still desires so much more for you.
I'm praying for you bro. Stay strong in the Lord, and continue steadfastly in His word - it will do SO much to improve every aspect of your life. May God bless you bro.

An update:
It seems like it's too early for an update, but I wanted to add one more thing on here. As a result of some major soul searching and an understanding of just what is most important to me, I am giving up an area of my life that I never would have expected to give up: Politics.
It's been a hobby of mine for a while, and I have just come to understand that this hobby is getting in the way of my walk with God. So, I just ask that in addition to praying for guidance and for strength in my new focus, as stated above, that you also pray for a safe transition from politics to non-politics. It's going to be hard, but I plan on trying.
