My Dad

Hey guys,
Can y'all please pray for my dad? His name is Ronald. I just heard today that he was in the hospital and I went to visit him (haven't seen him for over 5 years) and he's not doing good. He may not make it.
From talking to my aunt (his sister), he has stomach cancer --they had to remove 1/3 of his stomach and some of his colon and intestines. He also has some uncontrolled bleeding and he had had surgery earlier today to implant a drain.
Your prayers are greatly appreciated. Of course, I pray for him to be healed (I would love him to walk me down the aisle at my wedding one day), but if God's plan is for him to pass on, I pray that he doesn't suffer.
I did get to have a good conversation with him --we visited for almost 2 hours. It was amazing to see him again (I've been looking for him for years), but I wish the circumstances were better.

God gave you a blessing in that sense Sheenar. *smile
Heavenly Father,
I pray on behalf of ronald. Lord I pray that your will be done whether it is time for him to go home or if it is to remain a little while longer on this earth. Please give him physical, emotional and mental comfort. Father please also give Sheenar both strength and peace of mind through this difficult time. In jesus Name we pray,
Amen

I saw my dad again today. He is doing better. He had to have surgery yesterday to remove some of his gallbladder. The nurse told me that he had been up and walking a bit during therapy earlier today. He was in a lot of pain and we didn't visit long because he needed to rest. But he seems to be doing better.
Thank you for your prayers, everyone!

I talked to my aunt this afternoon and she told me she called the hospital and they told her that Dad was no longer there.
Called the hospital. Dad is still there. They put me through to his room, but the phone just rang. He was probably sleeping.
Wonder why my aunt and I got different responses when we called...

Talked to my aunt tonight. She went and saw Dad on Thursday. Said he looked a lot better then when we had seen him.
Found out that the cancer began in his prostate, but he didn't have insurance when he first started to get sick, so he didn't see a doctor. He didn't want to be a burden on anyone, so he started living on the streets. The cancer spread and that is why he's in the hospital now.
Dad's cancer has metastasized so much that chemo won't do anything. They've been able to put him on a liquid diet --he's not able to have solid food yet. The prognosis is not good for him. Dad is going to die from his cancer --it has spread so much and they've had to take out so much tissue --most of his small intestine, his colon, a great deal of his stomach, and his gallbladder.
We don't know how long he has --I haven't gotten to talk to his doctor yet. I just hope I get to see him again before he goes. It's so frustrating not having a car and having everyone be so busy with school...I promised him I would come back to see him...

If you don't get a chance to pray with him, please ask someone else to, if someone isn't already. I'm sorry that I don't know your dad's history, but is he saved? I pray that he is and I know that everything will be all right in the Lord. Although I'll never give up hope for his physical healing as long as he is alive, I want and need God's will to be done - His good, pleasing and perfect will (Romans 12:2). We all do.
It is good to want to see your father again. You love him, which is very good. But do not worry. We will all be together. As Jesus prayed not only for His disciples, but all believers:
"My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message, that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me." - John 17:20-21
I'm praying for you and your family's salvation, healing, and favor in the Lord. May God's grace and mercy be with you and yours in the name of our Lord Christ Jesus.

I'm very sorry to hear my friend....
I hope I myself have a chance to see my father one last time, one day, despite all of his of wrongdoing ....
You are not alone in this fight Sheenar. God is right by your side in this struggle and will carry you through it. You will definitely see your father again in Heaven with a brand new body. And he'll welcome you with open arms in the real home of God's people.
God Bless you and I will keep praying for you.

I'm going to go see Dad today. One of my friends is picking me up after class to drive down there. I'll update later this evening with how he's doing. I'll see if I can talk to his doctor to find out exactly what's going on.

Saw Dad this afternoon. He looks much better. He's been walking around more and is now able to eat regular food (in small amounts). He should be released from the hospital either today or tomorrow. He's going to be staying at his sister's house (my aunt).
I really appreciate everyone's prayers.

Oh, Sweetie, what a bittersweet reunion! I am so glad that you got to see him, but sorry that it was under those circumstances. He will certainly be in my prayers and you as well... that in whatever time you have left, you and he can reconnect as much as possible, and that your life and faith and love will have a tremendous impact on him. <3
I don't want to sound too... naive, maybe? But coming back into his life when you did was all God's orchestration... and it is a known fact that people hang on stronger and longer when they have renewed reason for living. Pray for his healing, of course... and believe that God can heal him... But always, be strong, for him and yourself, and remember that God is standing with you both...

I will continue to pray for your dad. I also pray that you get to spend even more time with him and that you are both filled with and surrounded by the love and presence of God.
