My dad goes on a job interview tomorrow - could those who get a chance please pray he gets this new job? We need it pretty badly right now...-_-;;

I know what it means to really need a job and not to have one.

May your will be done in this matter Father, Amen.

To Shoo: a management position with Bealls. It's not a lot of money or anything in question, but...anyway. His current job just...well, it isn't paying the bills. That's how it is...-_-;;

The interview itself went well, but they want to do a credit check...O.o We're a little concerned about him not getting the job because of this...-_-;; It's a bit long to get into here (about the bad credit), but if it's God's will for him to have the job, he will, and if not...well, I'm sure something will come along.

inkhana, I will pray that your father will give it his best during the interview.

I can understand that this must be stressful for you and your whole family, but I am also sure that you will persevere with Him.

Sorry to dig up an old topic, but suffice it to say, Dad didn't get the job or I wouldn't be back here...-_-;; (side note: It must be nice to be able to interview someone and then never call them back...:rant: )

Aaanyway, he's got another interview lined up...maybe this one will go better. Your prayers would be much appreciated. :)

OK, update...

My dad did get the job he was looking for (praise God!) but there's a couple of hitches that have come up. Everything's fallen just so that our finances have been really taxed this month and (guess what) his employer only pays every two weeks (fun). Well, we had thought initially that it would be staggered so that he would be receiving a check every week (once you consider his "part time" job at Wal-Mart) but it turns out that's not the case...so it's gonna be a while before we can pay bills. I'm expecting to get a little money to help pay bills shortly, so I'm not really worried about the immediate problem, but I'm not sure what things will be like a week from now. God will provide.

On another note, since my dad is going to be an assistant manager for a while...it turns out that the manager of the store is kinda weird...O.o For instance, Dad was asking him questions about standard procedures and he would kinda stand there acting like he didn't know the answer, and then he'd answer after a long time...and then when they were talking about days off, he told Dad four different days (no, not to choose from...he just acted like he didn't know which one it was!). What the weirdest thing was, though, he didn't want Dad to keep an eye out for shoplifters or anything (nor take any measures to stop them if he did happen to notice one, which is inevitable)...and then proceeded to tell him not to mention to Loss Prevention that he'd said such a thing! This has me a little concerned. So...-_-;; just wanted to let everyone know what happened.

Aw...well I'll be praying that it all works out fine for your dad. Are you saying the Manager doesn't wish to be insightful and give the proper procedures of how work is carried on, that's somewhat how it sounds. I'm sure your dad will do just fine---tell him to hang in there, landing a new job is hard at first and there are many obstacles to overcome. But if he can prove himself to the company, he should weep in the rewards.

It's like he himself doesn't know the answer...or he forgets...or he's maybe hiding something. I had forgotten about this but there were other things Dad mentioned to me...like...this guy hires younger girls and then follows them around...O.o That's just...not right. Not to mention he was the one who started the confusion about the pay periods...he said it was at the end of -this- week when apparently it's actually next week. I mean, how can you be the manager of a store for two years and not know where the pay periods fall? O.o

Smells fishy to me ...

I'm surprised he's been around as long as he has, but I reckon it won't be too much longer before that guy is laid off.

He should, how long has he been with the company ? If it's been a long time then chances are there might be someone else in the job that is playing along the scheme of things with him. I'm sure whatever needs to be done righteously, will be done.

Not certain. It's been more than a couple of years, though, I know that. I'm not really convinced the guy is a criminal, but some of the things he does are sure strange. Like Dad was telling us last night...yesterday the guy seemed fine! (What's up with that? Mood swing? O.o)

I'll definitely pray for your family and your dad, Ink.

I worry that your dad might be getting set up for a fall, if this guy really is nefarious. So, tell your dad to keep good notes, and possibly record everything, also save memos that look questionable, and keep them in a file.

The same type of situation was happening to my husband, and he recently turned in his resignation. But, his back is definitely covered if the guy ever tries to set him up for anything. Especially nowadays with all the scandals from executives. That's another story, though. ^_^

Thanks Chloe...^^

It's possible that something shifty is going on in that store. I don't know enough to be sure if the guy is up to something or just kinda crazy. The good thing is, Dad was told that (since he put in to be a manager of a store and you apparently can't go directly into that position with training as an assistant) the district manager was going to put his name in for any stores that come open in this district, so he may have a store to himself in no time. :D
