Grandpa had a stroke

He is in the hospital. He and my grandmother live with my parents in an apartment in the basement due to my grandfather also having alzheimers. Someone in my family has to be in the hospital with him at all times because he can't remember why he's there. If he has to go to a nursing home, most likely my grandmother will have to go too. She isn't allowed to drive now because she'd had a few fainting spells. These are the last grandparents I have (my paternal grandparents died 5 years ago, 2 years after they had strokes). I'm asking for prayers of comfort for my parents. In truth I'm not really close to my maternal grandparents so the thought of losing them isn't as bad as it was when I lost my paternal grandparents. I kinda feel bad that I don't feel all that bad...but...I just don't have great memories of them. So again, just lots of prayers for my family. Thank you.

thank you for the prayers. He is getting worse. It seems he might have more brain damage than was thought. If he lives through the next 48 hours he will be moved to a nursing home (but from the sound of it...not likely.) I am five hours away, but we don't really have the gas money to get over there.
edit: We will be leaving tomorrow. My husband got his work off so we could go.

quick update before we leave. My parents told me the medication to unclot his blood made him bleed into his brain. He is now in a comatose state. They are asking people to pray that he is given a full recovery, or is taken home to Jesus. Thank you.

Car couldn't make it the trip. Came back home last night. Talked to my parents and they said he had a seizure. He is basically a vegetable now. No real expected recovery. They are planning to pull everything in 3-4 days.

What do you mean by PULL everything? how long has he been on it for you pull everything...which I think you mean his life support? Still praying(intensly) may GOD's will be done!

Well, I think 2 days, including today. I'm not there so I don't know. I just know his stroke happened on the left side of his brain (I guess the side that involves movement, talking, etc.) So he can't do anything. He's already been in and out of a coma, had a seizure, another stroke, now vegetable state. All my parents said was pull the plug, so i guess he's on life support now. They're going to monitor his condition for a few days, if nothing improves they will pull the plug. So, I guess they just want prayers for a painless death. Thank you all for your prayers.

It's kinda complicated. He's not on life support (just got over here...long day). Just an IV drip with meds. His entire left side of his brain is just...not responding to anything. He's not able to reason and will never be able to walk or talk or do anything.
New prayer request...I don't know if it's because she is scared, or if she really means it (leaning toward the latter). My mother's step mom is already talking about finding someone (most likely a guy) who will take care of her the rest of her life (like, wait on her hand and foot). She said this in front of my mom, who was extremely hurt, as would I be. Please pray for the inevitable strong emotions that will come about.

Well, he's been moved into a nursing home a few towns over. They've disconnected his IV...now I guess they wait for his passing....His entire left side of his brain is still as bad, if not worse. We hope that his passing is easy. Thank you for all your prayers and support.

I'm sorry to hear he's gone but I know you're glad he's home in Heaven now. Hope you're all doing all right.

I'm sorry to come to this so late. Praying for you and your family in your grief. For your grandfather, may he be at peace.
