Recently some people have tried to take advantage of their friendship with me and the fact that I'm a nice guy. As in acting like I don't exist or will say something very negative to me , like I'm annoying for only trying to have a sense of humor. Which my very own father did to me along with other abusive things when he was married to my mother. The rest of that story is to hard to even think about and I shall not bother you all with it.
I'm really having a hard time to forgive and not get angry with these people and say something that I'll regret later on.
Dealing with fickle people who don't appreciate people who are nice and try their hardest to serve the Lord can be quite tiring:mutter:.
I don't even know why I'm posting here in the first place.
It seems that I bother somebody most of the time for just trying to be nice to them, Sigh. At least God loves me.
Sorry to burden you all with this. Just going through a difficult time at the moment.

I think everyone feels that way once in a while or even more then that. I know I have ^ ^ Just hang in there and if they don't want your friendship.. Then that's their lost ^^ Just keep saying your hellos to them and leave it up to them to continue a conversation with you or not ^ ^

I know the feeling and it isn't at all nice... I'm praying for you, and I hope that you can find a reserve of strength from God's Spirit inside you to forgive, even when you just don't want to.

Oh man, I have this problem a LOT. I am really petty and hold grudges easily.
We all know that Jesus tells us to forgive as God forgives our own sin, so I don't feel like it's worthwhile to just parrot that verse here. Hrm... I know that as Christians, we usually don't believe in, you know, the karmic circle, but I think a loose interpretation here can apply-- at the very least, think of your own well-being. I'm a little dry and overly practical, so I like to think of my relationships with friends and acquaintances as a bank account-- doing good for a person adds to my balance, getting angry or taking favors subtracts. I want to have a higher balance so that people will be more willing to help me out in the future, and getting angry is a waste of money. Yeah, the model is never 100% accurate, but it's been enough to make me hold my tongue from lashing out (at least sometimes). I guess if you think of forgiving someone not only as turning the other cheek but also something that you might derive benefit from, that might help. Don't know how, er, biblical this is (but the bank idea I heard in church! iono.)
Man, what was that line in that manga that I read again? Something like "Getting angry is punishing yourself for other's wrongdoings." I remember it was a pretty simple, shallow manga, but I read that and I was LIEK WHOA. How wiiiiiiise!

Thank you Prince Absel, Hana, minakichan. I'm starting to feel much better. Thanks to God. Its still a bit hard to not feel angry towards them. Which of cours is what the enemy is tempting me with. Ugh..Its just sad and tiring when people take a good person for granted.
