The crazy thing was right when we were about to pray (I was turning off the radio) he felt a strong "grip" on his shoulder. As we prayed, the grip was loosened and he was sore but was ok. I was thinking maybe a demon did that.

Praise God! Please keep him in your prayers as you guys pray this week. He is going to be under attack I know.

P.S. A demon, huh? Well, I wouldn't worry about that. At least, not as far as salvation goes. Now that God has him he's going to keep him. Nevertheless, he'll be in my prayers.

Asian Blossom: I'm not sure when he will be ready to do that, we both need to find a church. Right now he is simply learning how to pray and starting to read the Bible (he has never read the Bible or been to church ...except once with me. God really works miracles)

Also, from here on out Matt will be safe from demons because he is born of God. In times of trouble I always go back to 1 John 5:18:

"We know that anyone born of God does not continue to sin; the one who was born of God keeps him safe, and the evil one cannot harm him."

Though we all make mistakes, the sin here is talking about the sin-loving nature. Plus this shows us that the devil has no power over us besides that which we allow him; through things like self-condemnation and other evil lies. Yes, we are tempted often in life, but we have the power through faith in Jesus Christ to cast the devil out and to resist him.

"Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you." - James 4:7

Tell Matt I'm happy our prayers have been answered. May he love the Lord with all his might and heart and mind and soul, and may he give God the glory in all he does.

Plus you have another answer to give people who ask why God allows suffering (in addition to the fall of man, we are not God, and others). Though I don't know much about him, do you think Matt would have received Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour if he didn't see the love and power in your testimony?
