Money money money.

So many problems in life boil down to money, or rather the lack thereof.

*sigh* Due to the kindness of a friend, we have two vehicles now. Well...the brakes in the car we already had went out, and we haven't been able to get it to the shop because it's too dangerous to drive it. So it's just sitting there and we're down to one vehicle, the minivan that my friend gave to us.

Well. The brakes were feeling weird so we took it in to have them looked at. They said that we only have about a week or two before the rear brakes go out completely, and gave us an estimate of 550 dollars to have it fixed.

Needless to say, we NEED that minivan. But...this 550 dollars is really going to hurt us a lot, because since we thought we were doing alright, we just bought a PS3 for some 600 bucks, and we have to pay that off, too. :\

Also, we've been trying to get married, but the process is more complicated than we originally thought, and also takes more money than we thought-- somewhere around 100-200 dollars, even though we're not really going to have an actual wedding.

We also don't qualify for food stamps because Daymon makes about 200 dollars too much. I was hoping we would, because that would free up about 300 dollars a month.

I don't really know what I'm trying to say here. Just...please pray that God will provide for us and give us peace instead of constant stress.

Dear Jesus,

I'm sure you hear this prayer a lot for money to deal with everything. Well, this is one more from me and ShiroiHikari. We're both dealing with a lot of things because the lack of money. As I'm sure quite a few of our brothers & sisters here at CAA.

I don't just ask for more money, but the wisdom to manage it as well. In your name Jesus we agree in prayer.

Amen

Money can be the cause of just about any kind of problems. If Dave Ramsey were here, he might say something along the lines of "You need to get out of debt now. You don't need the PS3, take it back and reduce your debt till it's gone."

That would be one problem down, and a chunk of financial stress removed. Then you would only have to worry about the wedding. I'll pray for you, of course, but it seems like the solution to at least part of your problem was right there, so I thought I'd chip in my $0.02.

Shiroi, are you and Daymon tithers? I can't tell you how much of a difference tithing actually makes. I am trying to support us all on one income right now and can't seem to make ends actually meet, but I remembered something that my sister told me about when she and her husband first got married, and were waiting tables to pay the bills.

she said that the only months they could come out ahead were the ones where they paid their tithe first.

so, I thought on that, and decided to start tithing... Things havent changed dramatically yet or anything, but I can see where God has given me grace to catch up little by little... the electric co. gave me an extension, the daycare gave me a break, the phone company took my check when it should have bounced...

All I can say is that if you tithe, keep being faithful with it and God will bless you guys. and if you dont, then give it some thought, okay?

Can't. It's been too long. The best we could get out of it would be to trade it in for credit, which won't really help. Besides, Daymon went through a lot of effort to get that thing (it's one of the rare MGS4 bundles) and he hardly ever buys things for himself.

We're going to put off fixing the van for just a little while (no longer than a couple of weeks) and when we do take it in, I'm going to ask them straight up about what absolutely NEEDS to be repaired, and tell them to only do that. Should bring the cost down to something more manageable. We can get preventative maintenance stuff done later. @_@

Also, this doesn't usually happen but all the bills and the rent are falling on the same paycheck, which is actually kind of bad. That means over half of it will be gone immediately. Blah.

Oh, I forgot. Nekochan, we don't tithe, mostly because we don't even have a home church right now. -_- Are there other ways to tithe...?

Shiroi,

Sorry Neko chan if I answer for you cuz i'm not trying too but one thing Shiroi is that tithing is (at least in my opinion) any ten percent you give away to benefit the Kingdom of God (ie. charity, food shelters, church etc). at least that is my opinion

No, Kunoichi, I completely agree! My mom always says that you should tithe where your spirit is getting fed... so I split mine between my church and her, actually, since she has no income and she spends alot of time with me discussing spiritual matters... she always tells me to give it to someone else, but I love being able to help her! <3

So I say that if you know someone who is financially strapped, or someone who prays with/for you, a local charity, or even -- and don't scoff -- giving it to a homeless person (I know that some will argue that they may just buy booze or whatever, but the important thing is that you give when you see a need... Remember what you do for the least of these, you do for Him...)...

God bless, Shiroi, I'm rooting for ya! ^_^
