CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

Hey guys ^_^

Well i have a bit of good news for me and a bit of prayer needed for this at the same time.

I felt the Holy Spirit's conviction to go abstinent in my relationship with my fiancee. While this may see like an easy decision, it was very hard because the fear that my fiancee would leave me was great. Well I spoke to him and he said that I wouldn't lose him and he loved me. So he agrees to go abstinent as well (this may not seem that big but this is coming from a guy who has never been in an abstinent relationship and doesn't have the same conviction as me) ^_^ so i'm really happy about that.

But well now i find myself in a new struggle against lust. So i was asking for prayer on that and if anyone who is a MATURE Christian (and preferably female ^_^;;;) would be willing to act as a prayer partner and accountability partner, I would greatly appreciate it. Even if its more than one it would be helpful ^_^

I'll definitely be praying for you, Kelly. I know how difficult it can be sometimes to follow through and do what God is asking you to do. But He always equips you to do it. I know He will be with you every step of the way.

I'll certainly keep praying for you. It's nice to hear from you too. Believe me, I know it's a tough decision. I've had struggles with that before, but I can only imagine yours and his was tougher.

well thankfully my fiancee is behind me on this and I have to say since I have now chosen to be abstinent...I feel much closer to God as I know that was a big area Satan had on me. I'm still struggling with lust (thoughts and such) but I know God will keep me strong.

I do ask for prayer for my fiancee....he is hurting from a lot of pain in the past and his heart is open to the Lord. He is probably go to church with me sunday (his first time ever going) so extra prayer would be appreciated

I'm glad to hear that your getting better and that you got a job.
It's good that your fiancee is supportive about you going on God's call for you to be abstinent (and that he's willing to be too) and that he's open to hear God's Word.

I pray for God to help you overcome this struggle against lust (it can be pretty hard,I know from experience ^^') and that your fiancee accepts Christ soon.

I'm sorry I didn't check out this thread before... I know firsthand the struggles you are going through now and how taxing and difficult it can be to commit to purity after having had a physical relationship... But if this is the man that God has for you, then being obedient to His will can only strengthen the bond between you.

be prepared for times when you may slip... but don't give up. God will bless you for choosing to honor Him with your body. If you ever need someone to talk to about this, I'm always around.

I want to marry Matt soon...I know where my heart is and his. I know I will never want to be with another man however i'm afraid because we haven't been together long what my family will think.

I was engaged before to a very abusive person so they look at each person i am with kinda wary now.

I wouldn't necessarily blame them if they did. But if you talk to them, you might want to point out that many guys would NEVER want to have a girlfriend with so many different problems, one of them even involving putting himself in personal danger. If he's sticking with you through all of this, then I imagine he's a great guy. That may change your family's mood.

yea they already think he is a great guy but...well they think i'm too young to be in a relationship (at least my uncle does and he's my dad in alot of ways) and sigh* i don't know. I love him so much and just want to be married and show the world we are always going to be together. We have already both said that we are married before God *meaning we spoke that vow to eachother* but yea...guess i'm being silly
