Possible kidney infection

I'm extremely extremely sore right now... My lower back (and stretching around to my stomach on the front) hurts pretty bad and it's difficult to move. I was told this was likely my kidneys, so I'm trying to drink water, but the pain is bad and if it's an infection, it means I'll either have to wait it out or get antibiotics and screw up my body again... Anyhow, I'm probably gonna try to wait it out... Drink lots of water and that's it...

If you think is kidney infection, you will need see your doctor as soon possible, if you think its a kidney infection. If it is left untreated, kidney infection can lead to potentially serious complications, such as permanent damage to your kidneys or blood poisoning.

The only way to give over a kidney infection is by taking antibiotics, I'm sorry to say that drinking water is not going to do much help, if in fact that its kidney infection.

I don't mean to scare you with this information, but it would be best if this keeps up, that you go to a doctor ASAP.

Other then that, we can pray that its not that and something that you cna give over quickly.

Yeah, if you think it's kidney infection, don't wait to treat it. The sooner the better. I'll pray for you.

For emphasis, I echo what everyone else says. Do not wait much longer.

Just out of curiosity, why do you think taking antibiotics will screw you up?

Speaking from experience (see my kidney infection thread)

see a doctor right away..sounds to me like a UTI cuz of the placement (if you have a fever..then that would indicate more of a kidney infection) but see a doctor and they can prescribe some treatment thats not antibiotic of it really messes you up..but kidney infections and UTI's can turn serious if you are not careful..like blood posoining.

I drank about a gallon and a half of water yesterday... I felt a bit sick from drinking so much water, but the pain just about cut in half today. I drank half a gallon this morning, and I'll keep drinking extra water through the day to try to flush my system out.

I said that about antibiotics because I've taken so many of them in my life... It seems I get at least 4 sinus infections a year, and always end up resorting to antibiotics... They're just not good for you, and mess up your digestive system and immune system... After my last round of antibiotics, I ended up getting some serious digestive problems. I just don't want that to happen again.

I'm not absolutely certain it's an infection yet, mind... And, if it goes away in the next couple days, I won't say anything else about it. If not? Well, I'm sure I'll be right off to the urgent care to get a prescription for ANOTHER antibiotic... I'll be trying the cranberry+vinegar thing first, though.

Well, I certainly hope you may avoid antibiotics. Glad to hear the pain is cutting out for you. Oh, and be careful with the water. Drinking too much water can also be dangerous.

I know first hand how antibiotics can mess up your digestive system up. I will give you a tip on how to fight that if you ever have to go on antibiotics again. This comes from a gastrointestinal doctor that I had to see years ago.

Eat yoghurt if you can. Yoghurt has a major medical use, in particular for a variety of gastrointestinal conditions, and in preventing antibiotic-associated diarrhea.

I eat yoghurt just about everyday and eat more then one cup, when I have to take antibiotics and it really helps.
