The fatal decline...

I wonder if this has been addressed yet...

I wonder if this will cause others to regard me as an elitist... an enemy of my fellow man...

I wonder if it's even my place to request something so grand...

I wish to extend my prayers over the state of California, and I ask for others to join me in doing so. For those who are uninformed, the Supreme Court of California, within the last month, has overturned a voter-approved measure banning same-sex marriage in the state, thus overriding the will of the people and adding fuel to the already violent flame of anger against activist judges (which is considerable). Also, in something that was just decided today, the request put forth by conservatives to stay that decision from going into full effect until November (y'know, so people can actually VOTE on it) has been denied. Therefore, come June 17th, gays and lesbians will be allowed to marry.

Now, mind you, this is in no way me speaking out against gays and lesbians as people... because they are. They are not monstrous or freakish at all. They are human, just like us. However, it is the behavior of homosexuality that is absolutely evil and must be kept at bay for the sake of society as a whole. I am totally convinced of this (if you want to exchange words about it, take it to PMs. I will not be the cause of open flame war.).

Also, this request is coming from a person who, admittedly, was almost convinced he was gay at one point... and God set me free before the behavior could ever manifest.

What I desire is not to inspire hatred toward people who have been deceived by our enemy. They must be loved. It is commanded by God. What I desire is for those of us who are called by God to stand in prayer against this abhorrent decision by these judges. However, I also pray that Christians in this state will do what they know is right and uphold that which God has ordained since the foundation of time and the world. I pray that those of us who are experiencing this now... who are watching this scenario play out and have done nothing will follow God's directive and BE salt and light...

This is my request. I make it humbly... and I thank you for reading it, because I know it's a long one.

I shall pray. I'm afraid it's too late for us in Canada... *shakes head* I loathe the fact that people saying they are "Christians" go and condemn all the homosexuals... Don't get me wrong I think that homosexuality is a sin, HOWEVER that doesn't mean we treat teh people partcipating in that sin like crap... so I shall pray for California Nightshade X. I hope you can have the right words if you do have to talk to people who are gay/lesbian.
-Sincerely,
Your Sister in Christ,

I'll pray about this, certainly. Then again, perhaps we should pray for our nation as a whole that we condemn the act of homosexuality. But I suppose California should figure more prominently. It is one of the bigger states, and is likely to have influence over a larger group of people.

Amen... Let's continue to pray for Cali and our country as a whole... This issue is multi faceted and decline is extending all across the nation... anyone heard of the newly passed Bill 200 in Colorado?

Um... I thought political messages were against the rules here.

I'll pray.

I will do so because the repercussions of this movement go far beyond merely marriage. I believe the world is in a state of decay and this is but one symptom of that disease.

FTW.

Sorry, but this is a bit too political and definitely has the potential to spark debate. Lock'd.
