The Possible Loss of a Companion

I normally wouldn't be asking for prayer in regards to the loss of a cat, or the potential loss of a cat, but I know that it's not necessarily the cat that needs the prayers. It's my step-mom.
Dolly is my step-mom's constant companion, has been ever since Dolly was born. Dolly holds a very special place in all of our hearts, because she is such a loveable cat (my step-mom calls her a "fur-person").
The last couple of days, Dolly has been trowing up everything she's been eating. She is an old cat and is prone to hairballs, but even after giving her hairball medicine, she continues to throw up. Which means that she may have something worse.
The bulk of the issue is that there is a good chance, if things do not go well tomorrow, that she may be put to sleep. And it's really going to break my step-mom's heart. And, in a lot of respects, it'll affect me a bit.
Dolly is sitting in a cat carrier near my computer right now. She's whining because of her confines, but I am unable to let her out because she may throw up again. It may seem kinda dumb, but I really don't like seeing Dolly like this.
So, I guess, pray for my step-mom, that if it does comes down to Dolly being put to sleep, that she can be at peace knowing that Dolly will not be suffering.
