Please pray for me on Thursday.

I know that this is a selfish prayer, but I do need prayer for thursday to go well. Because you see Im taking my AP Lit exam on that day, it's a three hour exam. And we are like in separate rooms in a church near by so we won't be distracted. This exam determines whether I have to take college freshman english or not. If I get a three or above I don't have to take freshman english. But I doubt I'll even get a three. The first part of the exam is many multiple choice questions that are especially hard to answer. Then the second part is three essays! These essays are the same as timed writings which I dislike with the intensity of a thousand suns. I hope and pray that the Lord will help clear my mind that day so I can at least do my best. Please, if you have the time, pray for me. Oh and also for my fellow AP students who are also taking it.

I took the English AP test back in high school, so I remember how it was. Yes, if you can get a high enough scores to get out of freshman English, that'll be awesome--I've heard those composition classes are really dull/full of busywork.

Good luck friend! I'm sure you will do well! Just read each question carefully and try not to rush too much. If you start to feel overwhelmed, stop for a second or two and take a breath. Get plenty of sleep the night before. Eat a good breakfast. Standard exam-taking things.

Pulling for you! :)

Maybe it's not selfish...we all do need prayers for ourselves now and then. I'll be praying. :)

Make sure you know the literary ins and outs of at least two novels or plays you've read for the free response essay. For the other essays, just remember tone, diction, imagery, and especially theme. As for the multiple choice, try to understand the passages and know what's going on before reading the questions.

I took the Language exam last year and got a three on it even though my class did close to nothing. If you're in an AP class and you have a dedicated teacher, you will pass.

I'll also be stuck in room for three hours on Thursday. Good luck to you,
~Rushia

Thanks you guys for the tips.

@ Sheenar- Yeah, Im going to have to go to bed extra early that day! I just hope I can be composed the whole time though.

@ Lady Rushia-And Ive read 5 books(Macbeth, Hamlet, Scarlet Letter, Crime and Punishment, and Jane Eyre.) in AP this year so I think Im good on any knowledge I might have to use. But I will have to review over them before thursday. Yep, I know those terms you mentioned. We played literary rummy and I won! I beat one girl whos really smart by 1 point. Yeah, your right about those mulitiple choice questions, its best to have an understanding and its also helpful to know all the terms to know exactly what the questions are asking. I think my teacher was fairly dedicated, we did enough timed writings to make me go crazy. But I think there will be more in Language AP.
