My mom needs a hysterectomy.

Hi guys.
My mom just told me that she has a "lump"/tumour, but it's not malignant and they can operate to remove it or she can just have a hysterectomy to remove the whole uterus. We don't have a lot of information at this point. So she's going with the hysterectomy. It's a 3 days in the hospital operation, but she'll basically be out of action for a month after that. She's going to check if she can have it in the June/July holidays so it will be easier, but if the doctor says it'd be better to have it now, then well...
Please pray.

My adopted mom at church had one this semester, so I know how it feels. Will definitely pray.
Your mom won't be able to pick anything up for a while, but she should recover fully in a month or so. We're pullin' for her!

I'll be praying.
I'm sure she'll be fine; my mom had one about a year ago, and a friend of hers had one just earlier this month. My mom did really well during her recovery, and my mom's friend is doing well also. In fact, she was over recently, and even went outside to take a look at the gardening my mom has done in the backyard.

Thanks everyone for the prayer and encouragement.
Some good news; my mom went for a mammogram the other day and it came up clean. She can also go for the operation in the holidays so it won't put too much strain on everyone and she won't have to miss too much work.

That's good; she'll have plenty of time to rest and recover that way. After all, the more someone rests, the sooner he or she will be able to get back on their feet after surgery, right?
Of course, though, they kept telling my mom to get up and walk some time soon after surgery, though...

She and your family have my prayers. She will likely need a lot of emotional support as well as the physical help, as having a hysterectomy will change her hormonal levels and possibly her emotional state, but all of that is much more easily managed when you have loving family around.
God Bless!

Thanks for the prayers everyone. I haven't seen my mom yet, but the surgery went well. She went in at about 6:15 pm and came out at about 8 pm. My dad was there and hopefully my brother and I can go visit her today. My sister and I were there yesterday afternoon.
