Three Good Friends in an Accident

On April tenth, three of my best friends were in a terrible accident. Their names are Laura, Trey, and Katie.
We had all gotten together that night at my house to watch the season premiere of The Office. They all rode together in Laura's truck, a little Ford Ranger. Trey was driving them home. There is a raised railroad crossing less than a mile from my house. They weren't speeding, but Trey wasn't used to the way Laura's truck handles. He lost control after crossing the tracks, and they crashed about twenty feet from the road into a creek.
Trey and Laura were wearing seatbelts, but Katie, who was sitting in the middle, was not. Trey got the best of it, with only a few cuts on his arms and some burns on his face from the air bag. Laura was a little worse, with a sprained knee and wrist, a broken finger, and a bruised sternum and forehead. Katie, however, was badly injured. She fractured her right humerus, shattered her left arm just above the elbow, broke a rib, bruised a lung, needed ten stitches below her bottom lip, scratched up the rest of her face fairly badly, and had various other cuts and bruises.
Laura called me as soon as she got out of the truck, and so I was there immediately following the accident. Seeing Katie covered in blood and laying beside that truck in the mud was the scariest thing I've ever seen. But somehow, all of us pulled together and really helped each other out. I'm especially proud of Laura and Trey, who didn't stop to think about themselves for a second and focused completely on helping Katie. They were both very brave and responsible.
Katie is in the hospital now, awaiting surgery on Monday. We've all gone to visit her several times, and she is doing well. Still, we would all really appreciate prayer, as it will be a long and painful process of rehabilitation for her. Please keep her in your prayers. Thank you.
