Pet Bird Attacked By Cat.

For those of you not on my Lj.

I leave to go in the other room for about three minutes and come back to find Frosty, my bird, hiding beneath my night stand with the cat watching. I didn't even know the cat was in the house. Frosty will stay on his perch stand unless I move him, so I know that the cat either knocked him off or scared him off. What happened after, I don't know.

I checked him over and I'm not finding any bites or any wounds at all. Cat saliva alone can kill a bird. A little feather fell out when I picked him up, but he has been growing new feathers lately. He's not cold and he's usually this warm. I put him in his cage and he's eating and moving around and fluffing his feathers up as usual.

The only thing I'm really concerned about is that his left leg and one of his right toes are very weak. He can move them but he doesn't want to.

I wouldn't be as worried as I am now but birds are known to exhibit normal behavior and die the next morning after an attack. I think he'll be okay, but I am going to keep an eye on him.

I usually don't ask for prayer over pets or animals, but if you guys could throw in a little one for Frosty, I'd be forever thankful.

sure. I'll be praying. I have a cockatiel named Teo, and he isn't out of his cage, but the cat sure likes to watch. what kind of bird is frosty?

Thank you.

Frosty is an English-style Budgerigar and we're both pretty bonded together. I let him sit on my shoulder when I'm up and about during the day. When I'm too busy to have him there, I let him sit on his perch stand, which I can move where I want. Otherwise, he stays in his cage.

I'll be praying too, I have a bunch of pet love birds, and I know how cats can kill a bird with just one bite (we used to take in wild birds).

God bless,
