Rough Times in the Family

My Great Grandpa is in the hospital. He's not doing so well...I can't explain it or put it into much detail, but he'd like to live to see his 90th (Dec 15) and that may or may not happen. It's putting an insane amount of stress on the family, and myself and my mom had been up, four hours away, living with my aunt this past weekend so we could be with him. That's why you haven't seen me at all.

Times are hard. None of us are too sure of what to do. Please pray for us...and that Grandpa, God-willing, will make it to see his 90th birthday and whenever he passes, he passes to the other side with easy transition. (We're all kinda jealous he gets there before us, heheh) But, for now, it is not easy...I know he's in extreme pain after his stroke and now being in recovery and everything...

Thanks everyone, God bless you all.

I will pray for you all. But you know, if he doesn't make it to 90, it's not like God isn't hearing him. I mean, maybe being spared some time of pain is better than "lasting" to an arbitrary date. I don't think we will be bragging about such things in heaven. Alas, we are humans, and cling to life for whatever reasons, even weak ones. Perhaps there is, after all, something we can learn from someone who clings to life because it is just that, life, regardless of the pain one must endure.

Well Kady my grandmother on my mother's side pass away from Brain Cancer back in 2002 when I was sixteen at the time. It was tough like some other past episodes to deal with but now I understand why God allowed her to pass. So she couldn't live with terrible pain night and day.

I pray God helps you stay strong through this trial. And he'll still be with you even if your grandfather passes. Just keep in mind if it does, happen of course it will really help, but you'll get to see him again in his youth and a brand new body that will be immortal. God Bless and hang in there.

OK, time to shift modes. Your great grandpa is covered, so I'll pray for you, your mother, aunt and family. I know you've got plenty of personal matters to deal with, but this might be a good time to lay that aside as much as possible and focus on supporting the others in your family that might be struggling through this.

Also, please pray for my great grandma (who was wed to my great grandpa for 65 years) because she fell down some stairs today and broke her hip, and is having surgery tonight...

*sighs in disbelief* Everything supposedly happens for a reason, though.
