Today at noon there was an incident where an 18-year-old boy shot several shots in a junior high school. After that, he shot himself and is likely to die within a few days. 8 people were killed and more than 20 were injured.

The shooter has been told to have admired the Columbine incidents and that he hated society and mankind. I don't know if he had something personal against the people he shot. The victims include the school principal and some students.

So, I just wanted to inform you about this and pray for the friends and family of the victims... And I'm sure everybody living in that area are shocked. I'm a bit schocked too, although I live far away from there.. Though my cousin's fiancée lives there but she's okay.

Pray for them, please, and also for that these kind of incidents wouldn't become more frequent. :(

My wife is from Finland and she told me about this as soon as I got home from work. She's really messed up about this after reading that about this guy from a gamers website she goes to only to find out he was on that site too. She hasn't talked to her parents yet..they live over in Finland, so would you guys say a prayer for her (Heidi) and the people over there.

She's taking this really hard. :( mina rakastan sinua oh Lord!

Will definetly be praying....I also pray that God will put his ppl in these situations when they arise, so that they can help others, even if it may come to protecting the others by facing the shooter......And, more then likely, he already has and already does......It's just we don't hear about it on the news.....

I am having a hard time reconciling this with Finland. Of course, we've had this happen right here in Kentucky so I am well aware of the collateral damage to the whole community, especially if this is the first time something like this has occurred. Actually, the guy over here seemed to have trouble with the high school prayer group, so he shot at them as they were gathering (before school) for prayer. Ugh.

My said that churches in Finland were filled when this happened. Also, that the authorities had counselors ready to help people cope with this, but all the kids that went to that school went to church instead, that there were so many people going to churches they had to take blankets to sit in the isles, and refused to talk to counselors. They wanted to talk to God. Which is a blessing, amidst a tragedy. My wifes stated that Finland isn't the most religious country, but this really surprised her when she read this.

She even shudders when she mentions the "Children of Bodom" tragedy.
