well, for the longest time I've been wanting an Egyptian Mau (cat). But, with the price range on kittens ($500-$5000), my chances of geting one...were slim. Until now. My friend Kathy just got a 4month old kitten from a friend of hers. The more I looked at him, the more I could see some traces of egyptian mau(body, and head structure, had some actual "spots" on him, mixed with his stripes). Well, the more I told her about egyptian mau's the more she said sounded like her cat. Well, she told me she got the cat for free. So she's going to the original owners to see when the next litter will be so that way I can get myself one too (hopefully they are breeding em and it wasn't a fluke..and if it was..I pray that fluke happens again. lol). ^_^ I hope everything works out (if it's in God's will of course...). Thought I'd share this with ya guys. btw...the pic is of an egyptian mau for those who don't know what they are. ^^,

Yay! I hope you get your kitty! I really, really want a Russian Blue! But alas, I must wait until I live somewhere you can have pets (and make $ to care for 2 animals --Pebbles eats a
LOT of food!!).
Your post made me so happy! I love cats! I can't wait to have a snuggly little kitten myself!
Keep us updated1

I'm sorry, but I believe you just got through a thread about your financial difficulties. Kittens are some of the best things in the world, but only when you're ready to support it. You probably know how much care they require, and how much care requires money.
I know the prospect of getting an expensive cat for free is exciting, but is that really what you should be focusing on?
I hope you get your kitten too, but only if you need it. I pray God will give you guidance.

There have been quite a lot of cats in my life. Oddly, I think we only got one from a pet store, and that was a gift to my mother from my (then) step-father. The rest just showed up one way or the other.
Take my current cat: kitty. Yep, highly original name. Actually, this cat showed up in the fall a couple of years ago and hung around outside my neighbors house, probably because he felt sorry for it and fed it. Well, my kids adored this cat and played with it a lot, even though we didn't feed it. This cat stayed around through the winter (snow and all) outside. Come spring, I realized it had chosen our home and was patienty waiting on us to take it in. Well, two years later, it's pretty integral to our family and spends most of its time inside the house. Very good inside, too. Doesn't claw on the furniture and figured out what a litter box was on the first day inside. Sweet.
Good luck with your potentially new cat, but don't forget to allow God into your life just as much.
Sheenar: Russian Blue, huh? I always thought those looked a little too much like they could kick my butt.

Well, every-thing's been going better since I went back to church...and talked to the pastor about the stuff that's been going on. Also, I talked it over with Micah, and he's pretty happy about the possibility of a cat too. The thing is, is that with micah going to college, and I working (or both going to college and working part time depending where we eventually move to), our dog Yuki will be cooped up inside all by herself for who knows how long. She was ok before, but we don't know how she'll be once I move out of his mom's house (now that she's been around a cat and three other dogs). So, we've been trying to figure out a good pet to keep her company. Even before we came back, we were trying to find a solution. So I guess to sum it up, Micah feels it's ok, and I feel it's ok, and since we're making this decision as a couple, we're letting God handle the rest. If it's meant to be it's meant to be, if not then not.

A cat would be a good companion, alongside the dog.

http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/russian.html"Those attracted by the physical beauty of the Russian Blue find the disposition of these unassuming cats equally appealing. Russian Blues are quiet, clean cats who are playful and loving companions. Despite their shy nature, Russians are devoted and quite affectionate towards their loved ones. They are very intelligent and have been reported to open doors and teach their owners to fetch. Sensitive to the mood of the house, Russians will ‘clown' to quiet a crying baby or sit patting your face to chase away the blues. They get along well with children and other pets."
Hmm...maybe it's all a ruse to lower our defenses...
Good luck Bakura! I hope it all works out! If you're not able to get a kitten from the breeder, please consider adopting from your local animal shelter! It's not that expensive, and you can bring the kitten to them to be spayed/neutered at a lower price! (I used to volunteer at the local shelter and I wanted to take all the kitties home! But then, what would I do with that many cats?!?)

...closest shelter is like over two hours away...there's supposedly one closer...but no one knows it's exact location.

That is a beautifull cat, I didn't know they existed...I love it!!!*wishes to hold it and pet it* I have a cute cate also, but I guess you could call it a mut, it is a white and black domesticated cat, and weighs about 14 pounds -he is not fat, just big!- and loves to hunt, just yesterday he caught a squarly and ate it apparently since he came in with his belly full so anyways..back to the point...I'm glad things are going better!! huggles...praise be to GOD!!!
GOD bless you!!!

well the people have no cats...not even the momma. She went missing. They believe one of the wild animals around her got to her. *sigh* ;-; well the only other option around here is the vets. there's a lady who takes in abondoned cats.
edit: update: well, no cats. my mother in law said she couldn't have another animal and that cats will fight amongst themselves if they're not from the same litter. She had only said yes cause of the egyptian mau, but if it's a cat just to get a cat then no.
