I'll definitely be praying. Have you ever considered fasting from your computer for a little while? And if you have to absolutely use your computer, have you ever thought of using it in a public place, where people are watching? That's a good way to police yourself. But still, God wants you to keep getting up and trying again, no matter how many times you fall. Giving up will only show that you've admitted defeat, and God doesn't want that for you. So keep trying to resist temptation; if a bad thought pops up, you can either pray or try to distract your mind with something else you have to do, like school/work or some other mundane activity like laundry.

I hope some, if any, of that helps. Regardless, you have my prayers.

Hm...well, have you ever gone outside for a walk to clear your mind? You know, unwilled thoughts are not sinful; it's thoughts you deliberately want that are sinful if they're impure. If you're being beseiged (sp?) by thoughts that you don't want there, that's not a sin. But keep in mind that what you do about those thoughts also determines whether or not you've committed a sin.

I'm still praying. Don't give up on this battle; you can overcome this.

Why do we fall?....So, that He can pick us back up...I used to be in a situation like yours where I'd constantly be thinking about it and it seemed like there was nothing I could do. It took awhile (a long while it seemed), but I finally got control over it (through God's help alone), but here's the thing.....

Sometimes when your wanting to overcome something it takes time...and sometimes a long time...There is a verse in the book of James that says the reason we go through times of trials and difficulties is so that we can gain perseverance that only comes when we trust that God will help us through whatever....

Keep trusting Him...And remember that even though we fail Him sometimes He will NEVER fail us...I'll be praying for you....

And I agree with AsianBlossom about the outdoors thing. It's really neat to see what life is like without constant exposure to TV or computer...It's very refreshing in the least...

Since I'm basically in the same boat as you are, I'm not going to act like I know the one magic trick that will instantly make temptation disappear. But I will be praying, and I encourage you to do the same. And I don't just mean "please make it stop" prayers, since we both know that the enemy is still going to be all around us either way. Pray for the Lord to overwhelm these desires with a greater desire for Him. Trying to struggle with lust in our own way actually keeps it at the center of our thoughts. But it's not OUR struggle anymore, Christ has already conquered it for us. THAT'S what our thoughts should be centered on, even though we keep training ourselves to think and act otherwise.

There's more to it than merely unplugging from the tv and internet. There are deep reasons why we fall into these things. It will take a lot more than just trying hard. Get a book called Wild at Heart by John Eldredge.
