Parents just don't understand.

Well, recently my fiance and I moved to Texas to stay with his parents. He just graduated from college, so we thought it might be a good opportunity to save back some money for when we get started on our own. We had visited his parents in their old house quite a lot and they were very nice to us. So it sounds like a good idea, right?
So far, it's turning out to be one of the worst decisions we could have made. First, his mother threw a fit about our cats, so we couldn't move in until we found someone to take them. (Our former roommate is keeping them for us, thankfully.)
Now that we're here, well...frankly, it's like my own personal hell. We've only been here three days, tops, and it already sucks. I can't cook anything, I can't do laundry without being nagged or somehow managing to get in the way. There's a rule about only being able to eat at the table, so we can't even eat in peace.
Also, Daymon's dad is already nagging him to get a job when we just frigging got here. And it's not like he wasn't going to; he told his dad before we came that after a few days, he was going to start job hunting. There was no need to come down on him so hard about it. I mean, what are we, fifteen years old?
Bottom line: we're miserable here. His parents don't even seem like the same people. So please pray that God would have His hand on this whole stupid situation. We would like to move out of here and either go back to Oklahoma or find a nice place somewhere in Texas that won't cost us an arm and a leg.

You don't really know what someone is like until you live with them I guess...

Oh man that sounds like a nightmare. Weird how sometimes people can totally change once you start seeing what life is like with them and you're like "okay... are these really the same people?" I'll be praying that the situation improves for you two.

They probably don't know how to take the fact that their son is engaged to be married, and are taking it out on both of you...lousy reason I know, but it happens, and it's no excuse either.
Praying.

Well, this sucks.
Daymon's mom told me to leave. So I'm leaving, and I'm not coming back. I wanted to leave anyway, but now I don't get to see Daymon again for a long time because I have to go back to Oklahoma to live with my dad, and he doesn't have the money to come with me.
Why did this have to happen?

Sounds rough. Question though. Why dont you guys just get married and get your own place? I mean, you said he was your fiance right? I know I dont know all the circomstances but I cant say I agree with living with some one you are not married to yet.
I will pray that being apart will strengthen your relationship / commitment with one another and that God will bless you both in your comming marriage. ^_^

We are going to get married and get our own place, but it takes time. We don't have the money to have a wedding or get an apartment right now.

The saga of BS continues.
One of Daymon's mom's stupid friends somehow found me on the internet and started a whole lot of trouble. I'm getting really, really sick of this crap.
I don't even know why I bother to update this thread anymore.

I don't know. I guess because, for whatever reason, they don't like me. I thought his grandmother liked me, but she's been treating me really bad too. At least his dad is a nice guy.
I don't plan on spending much time with these people in the future, that's for sure.

Sorry I know Im a little late here. But chances are that you will never have enough money. That doesnt mean you cant get married. Part of being married is working though these things together. If you wait untill you have it all figured out or financially sound, you will never be wed.
Im not saying to be rash in your decisions, only that if the Lord is calling you two to be married, then you should wed and deal with the problems that face you together. Is money really a good reason not to be married?
Weddings are to big of a hassel anyway. <-- Personal opinion --> Elope! ^_^

Prayer sent for God to intervene in the situation, guide and comfort you and help your whole family to be supportive of His decision and have love, compassion and understanding for each other. Also that you will trust Him to heal the wounds left by this pain, that He will do so and that He will shield you from having those wounds reopened and from future hurts. Keep strong.
Piney.

I hate to point it out, but if you are going to marry this guy you will be tying yourself to this family for the rest of your life. The whole "to heck with the parents lets elope" idea has a romantic flair to it, but rarely works out in real life. Even if he decides to cut off ties to his family, that doesn't change the fact that they have had an influence on him. He may have inherited his family's habits, rules, and problems. This is all stuff you will have to work out with him and his family. You may never like his family, and his family may never like you, but if you can achieve a cease-fire it will be in your best interest. I am not saying that what they are doing to you is right, because it isn't. However, with God's help it is possible to learn to love anybody, and maybe someday earn their respect.
I am sorry for your situation, you are in my prayers.

Okay, this is getting ridiculous.
So I had to come to Oklahoma to live with my parents after Daymon's mom kicked me out. Daymon got a job as a mortgage loan officer about a month ago and he put down a deposit on an apartment. We were going to move in this Friday.
Well, Daymon got laid off today.
I'm just...really sick and tired of this. I hate this town, I hate living with my parents and I hate being without Daymon all the time. When is this crap going to stop?!

while I will pray for you. I am very concerned with the things that Kaji mentioned. Have you prayed about what God wants you to do, and what He trying to do in you. I fell lead to give you this verse. James 1:2-8.
