Major Prayer Request!!! 20,000 without electricity

Hey Everyone!! CR chan here with a MAJOR prayer request.
12 hours ago, The Western half of my state suddenly lost power. My house was included. We have had a MAJOR ice storm and over 3,000 power lines have snapped. And now 20,000 homes are without electricity. Right now I am writing this because for some reason, God allowed our Electricity in my town to come back on. (literally like 5 minutes ago.)
My concern is for those still without power. They are saying for some it coudl take up to a week or more to restore the entire area back to normal. Please guys...the weather is gonna get REALLY cold and I am worried for those who need heat!
I am not sure how long my city's power will remain on, I have been praying all day for God to restore electricity before nightfall and he has seriously blessed me and my town with this answered prayer. (Thank you Lord, Jesus!)
It's really funny how we have come to rely on electricity so much...but many homes run on electric heaters and ovens now a days. (we have a gas stove, but we need electricity to turn it on...)
So yeah..thanks everyone!! It means a lot to me and the citizens around my area. It's really scary right now ^^;
I would also like to pray for those in Colorado...and Oklahoma, it seems their situation is a lot worse than ours. I hope you guys will be ok!

That kind of thing is no fun whatsoever. Can't imagine what it's like in the extreme cold. They're in my prayers.
Thanks for bringing this up, KitChan. The best to you and yours, as well.

I'll be praying! It's tough being without electricity for a few hours, much less a week these days, especially when it's cold out. o_o So yeah, I'll definitely keep them in my prayers!

We got our power back on just now too!! Our was out since midnight, not last night, but the night before. That's 41 hours. My specific power company only had about 150 poles down, but I hear others in the area have had thousands go down. Luckily I've heard my family down in the panhandle is getting electricity too, although not all of them are. The larger cities already had power come back on. I don't worry too much about people here since we are somewhat used to power outages (though I must admit, I've never had one last more than a few hours before), but I am somewhat worried about the elderly people in the area. Also, for some reason our town hasn't had phone service, so we've only been able to communicate by cell phone (which, our area has horrible reception). So yeah, still keep everyone in your prayers. Also, our food supply is getting low. Our grocery store has been closed the last couple of days and our main convenience store is low on food. We don't have any bread products left, only a few really weird random items on the shelf. We do have soups and stuff though.
My family is lucky. We have gas stoves and a gas water heater. (And if you don't know, you can manually light a gas oven.) So we've been able to eat fine and shower. Not everyone else is that lucky though.

Well, if I heard the TV right (it was doing that fuzzy interupt thing that's hard to hear), our power is going to go back off in a few minutes. Hopefully it comes back on soon. I know quite a few people still have power off, in both the Oklahoma panhandle and in other areas of Southwest Kansas. Keep praying for us!
(and don't ask me why our Internet is working but our phones aren't...it's a mystery to me...)

Wow, scary. When I read the first paragraph though I was like "how is she using her computer?!" Then I reread it and saw that your power went back on. XD
Anyway, I'll keep you in my prayers. Make sure you have emergency supplies and flashlights!!

My province got hit a couple of times with those >_< For us in town in took several hours but those out in the more rural area, took a few days in some cases >_< So, I totally know how it is and what it's like to go around for no electricity for a bit :/ I'll be praying...

Our power only went out breifly the second time. Everything seems fine now. Our phones are back up too! They came back sometime between 8 and 11, not quite sure when as we kinda gave up on the phones long ago.

Supposedly 44,000 homes and businesses are without electricity, but that might not be true anymore (thats from earlier today). Even many metal poles went down. A friend told me he'd call when they got their electricity back and I haven't been able to contact him yet. He lives a bit out in the country though, so he might not get it when the rest of his town does. ALL of his stuff runs off electricity, supposedly they didn't even have any water. They were all sitting around their Coleman lantern when I last talked to him. So, yeah it's not over yet.

I'll pray for the power situation to be worked out! And CR as far as Colorado I can tell you that Colorado Springs and the surrounding area is doing fine. I think Denver isn't doing to well though...That and the southwestern part of the state.

My friend finally got his power back!! (and no, I don't think it's someone you know. He's a friend from college, he lives outside of Sublette when he's home on break) His power went out at 8 AM last Saturday and came back around 6:30 PM today(Friday). That's nearly an entire week without electricity! I think most of the towns in the southwest part of Kansas have their power back on, but I'm not sure about the ones further north. Not all of the people in the country around here have power back yet. In my area I've heard estimates of up to one more week for the people just east of town to get their power back.
It seems odd that such a seemingly small storm did so much damage. There wasn't a huge amount of snow, only maybe a foot in my area. It was actually pretty warm out the rest of the week. Just that one day got cold enough and made the poles go down. And I really mean they went DOWN. We finally drove to a nearby town the other day and their were mile long stretches of poles that were completely snapped in two with half of them nearly on the road! It was just weird, I've never seen anything like that before.
Also, many of the farmers out here can't get to their cattle to feed them, so their major source of income (and seeing as most beef comes from this area, a major source of the US food supply) is at risk. Pray that everything turns out alright!

ahh my mistake XD
I know, It's like GEEz. it was a very small storm...but the thing is, it rained the day before and then all that water froze...and yeah...it was pretty bad...
here is a pic attached of one of those Transformer towers that was treated like a piece of paper:
yeah it's getting really bad for our farmers..:/ I really hope everything will be ok.
Please pray for our Christian Radio station around here too.. It's an awesome ministry but like 200 feet of their radio tower fell Sunday afternooon and they haven't been able to broadcast to regular radio since then. (They are available on the internet) It's really sad...and they are saying that unless God does something awesome, it could take weeks or even months.
thanks a bunches everyone!!
Kansas and Colorado and Oklahoma are slowly but surely getting out of this mess!
