could you guys pray for my friend??

she's my best friend, we've known eachother since 2nd grade.

over the past couple years, we've grown SO close- to the point of being like sisters. she practically lives at my house, nd over the summer she slept over like.. every other day.

i know that she's expiremented with drugs in the past, especially freshman year. but throughout sophmore - senior year, she's been fairly clean.

but ever since she went off to college, she's been smoking weed everyday, all day- and has been doing other stuff like opium and stuff. I am so worried about her. she's become a drug addict, and i'm so afraid that i'll lose her.

it's just not healthy....

pplease pray that she finds the lord and he helps her though this....

thanks <3

Praying. You have told her this is hurting you, right? Perhaps you should talk to her about what it is about her college life this is so bad she wants to shut it out by doing drugs. Drugs might be a symptom of a bigger problem. And of course, when you do them, skip class and get bad grades, it just makes wanting to escape you situation that much worse.

Occasional drug use is one thing, but sustained constant use like you describe often has roots in a deeper issue. That's not to say that physical and psychological addiction doesn't come into play, but it is likely that something else has driven her to this. To echo SP1, there may be larger issues at work here than just addiction factors.

A lot of people use drugs and alcohol to escape from something in their lives. Whether it's something real or imagined, they see drugs/alcohol as a way out of its power. Kill that fear, and the original need for drugs/alcohol/whatever goes away, and the person can receive help. Leave it, and all the rehab in the world won't help permanently. I'd say pray about the root problem, and leave the symptoms for after. (Not that I'd encourage that kind of constant drug use, it's unhealthy. I'm just saying look for where it's coming from first.)

And don't preach judgment to her about it unless God specifically tells you to, or you can close doors that you'll need.
