I caught up with my cousin Lucia this Christmas. She is not doing well, spiritually-wise. She's beginning to doubt her faith and is leaning towards Deism or agnoctism. (At least she's not going atheist) I'm trying not to push my objections, but at the same time, I'm worried. HELP!

*Dunno too much about the areas Deism or agnoctism*
I will pray for her future to be bright.

Briefly, deism as I understand it is the belief that there is
a God, but he's generally not very involved in the world. Deism denies miracles, divine revelation, and other visible manifestations of the supernatural, and puts the foundation for religious belief entirely on human reason.
Agnosticism is somewhat similar, the belief that it's not really possible to know anything certainly or truly about God.

Hit the nail right on the head, RedMage. That's why I'm so worried.

Just a reminder that everyone keep this thread free of religious discussion and only post supportive and/or prayerful comments.

Well, all is not yet lost. I personally think the Holy Spirit has a pretty good "foot in the door" of someone who believes in God, at least a little bit. Praying.

Deism holds with the Clockmaker God theory, that God or the Gods created our Universe and then let it fly solo, having other things to do, apparantly. Cosmic shuffleboard?
Hope she can see past it.
On a related note, though, I once accidentally converted someone to Deism from Atheism. Step in the right direction, at least.
