My grandfather is in the hospital. He was burning leaves in his front yard, when suddenly he fell into the fire and burnt 60% of the skin on his left hand, and 15% on his right. They will soon be grafting his skin on his neck and moving it to his hands. Please pray that this surgery will go well, and that he will heal quickly. Thanks.

Right now he is at home, but there is another surgery coming up soon. Really, taking him home wasn't the best idea, because now he could get his badages dirty, and the wounds could get infected. But the doc said it was alright, so I guess he will be ok.

Insurance issues aside, it's my understanding that people get better faster if they are at home (assuming they're not too ill/injured to leave, of course). So maybe the doctor is doing your grandfather a favor. Praying.

I also thought I'd give another update. My mom is now on her way to my grandfather's house to take him back to the hospital. He is not taking his medicine the right way, he is saying things that make no sense whatsoever, and he has gotten the wounds infected.

Yeah, there is. He is almost 80. My mom thinks he is a little senile now, something that I would've never thought, considering the fact that he wasn't even senile as early as last year. At the hospital, the nurses asked him what day it was, (this was on Sunday) and he said it was Tuesday the 24th. My mom couldn't tell whether he just said that because he was getting old, or whether it was because of the medicine.
