I could use some prayer.

Lately I've felt somewhat...cold, towards God. Like I can't feel His presence or love or anything. The songs that used to bring a tear to my eye in appreciation of Christ's sacrifice do not anymore. I don't know why, but I want to grow close to Him and feel His presence at all times. I want the motivation to study each day, and I want stronger faith. I just ask that you pray for me, and if you have any advice, I'm open to it. Everything seems so surreal to me when it comes to eternity that at times, I wonder if it is all just a dream. It scares me in a way, that I can't feel God nearby, and my concience is on standby - I have not felt guilty for doing wrong nearly as much lately. That scares me.
P.S. - Asking for God to improve your faith is dangerous; everytime I do, a hard time comes my way, but I come out of it stronger!

Well, I wouldn't say that asking for faith is "dangerous", but it's true that an obstacle to overcome is just around the corner... But it's totally true-you DO come out stronger in the end once you persevere it. But it's sort of the same if there's something bothering you, and you just give it up and hand it over to Him to mold it into how He wants it, instead of what you want it. Things... don't exactly go your way... but you won't know until in the future of what it turns into, which is of course, something MUCH better than you expected it to be^^
I've personally been there where it's all like "doesn't feel like God's around right now" and nothing really feels... real in a sense. Of course it IS and all, but it's kinda werid when you're in that state of mind.
I'll be praying for you...

I'll be lifting you up, bro.
And remember, your relationship to Christ isn't defined by how you feel, but by Christ's sacrifice and by what the Bible says about who you are in Christ. This isn't to say it doesn't take self-sacrifice to study the Bible, take time out to pray, etc; clearly the Bible talks about the need to crucify the flesh, and sometimes it's a struggle to stay motivated to do those things. But if this is any encouragement to you, I think your desire to be close to Him perhaps speaks more about whether you're seeking first His kingdom and its righteousness, rather than how you're feeling.
