CAA: Christian Anime Alliance

I was finally able to announce my Bible study and this week we had six people, which was good because last week we had 4, but i have problems i mean i know that what i beleive is right and i have stood by it.
Today i was in a debate, not like a fighting debate, just me and this girl talked and she was raised Catholic and now she doesnt beleive in anything because the way that they acted and all that but her and this guy from my school does not beleive in there being a heaven or hell and we talked about it and im fine with them persecuting me or what ever because i know that "Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake" but i was trying my best to convince them, without you know turning them off from listening and as i write this there is so much more i could have said but i didnt i mean they were like nothing happens after you die and all i said was we will see and i didnt say it loud enough for them to hear and i didnt say it meanly, but i mean i could have said like well are you sure? but i mean i really dont know what to do honestly the girl was bringing up some good things but i knew they werent true and all that but i really on the verge of crying i feel guilty i didnt say something else i felt like at the time i had said all i could i mean i dont want to like force my beleifs on them but yet i want them to get saved what do i do?
But the Bible study is really great thanks for your prayers now i ask to pray for those two i only know the guys name its Jarred, but the girls i am not sure of but anyways please pray for them.
I think i am getting through to my friend Dana by talking to her and maybe also Jamie, but please pray for them and all of my friends and aquaintences ect thanks

I'll pray for you, MA4J. I know how hard it is to come up with all the right answers on the spot-- especially when someone has an argument that they've probably spent most of their life developing, and you're supposed to be able to shoot it down in one conversation? That's tough! What I would suggest is that you pray before you start every day that God will give you the answers you need when you need them, and that you will have the courage to give them. Also, do you know any other strong Christians in your school? I'm sure it would help you out immensely in situations like these to have someone else there trying to help answer these questions.

Thanks 4 the prayer and encouragement, I just feel guilty i mean i dont even know why but i honestly dont know any strong Christians in my school i mean except my teacher Barry and our disipline guy Monte.
I dont know any Christian students the ones that are came to the youth group thing (i have to call it that to advertise it) and they arent really strong in their faith, but they have been going through some junk in their lives, i mean i shared my testimony and all of that i think i made an impact i pray i did ...

I'll be praying for all that, because as Yumie says, it IS hard to come up with these answers right on the spot and all.

Don't sweat converting anybody just yet. I think that you should focus on creating an environment where people aren't so defensive and argumentative. That might just mean talking about "stuff" and maybe checking out how the bible deals with a problem. Keep away from hot button issues like sex, abortion, etc. Maybe stay more distant. Debates are not productive, since each attendee has grossly different backgrounds, so they are armed differently (that is, not fair).

Well, so someone in your class doesn't believe in Heaven or Hell. OK, work with that. Ask whether the person believes in an afterlife at all. Why or why not? Jesus really spends most of His time talking about living in the kingdom of God right now, and not so much on the afterlife. A heaven as a place is not so much a concept of the Old Testament at all. Your reward for a righteous life was blessings from God now, not later. We should similarly be serving God now, not because of a "promised reward", but because it is the right thing to do (our duty). Maybe Jesus didn't dwell so much on the afterlife because we weren't supposed to worry about it too much.

Instead of taking an opposing viewpoint, keep questioning and pulling that thread. You might find more fertile discussion ground farther down.

And just love them as friends, that in itself speaks volumes of God's Love.

Anyways, like the others said, stay off "hot buttons", and just be a friend.
I peronally would go to topics like God not being dead an the things He's STILL ( because He doesn't change ) doing in peoples lives, however, we are to " lean not unto our own understanding" and as Paul states, depend on how the Spirit and not on human wisdom when ministering to people.

ANYWAYS, glad God made the ministry successful. I'll be praying sista!

yeah what started it all of was her saying she absolutely HATES Christians with a passion and she knew i was a Christian when she said it right in front of me and said we caused the dark ages and such -_-' gosh im sorry but most of the stuff she said after i talked to my YPs lol they just seem stupid and pointless and un scientific oh well thanks for the prayers please keep them coming

Okay well i was talking to Jamie and Dana the other day and Jamie said if she has no work she would come to the youth group meeting, and Dana too. please pray they do come and that God touches them i mean they are agnostic but i really really really need prayer for them and also maybe if they come then maybe Megan (the girl i got into a debate with which btw is quite nice me and her get along well really ^^;) so please pray the prayers are helping alot THANKS!!!

OOOHkay guess what! well i had i think it was 7 or 8 people today and it went great even Jamie and Dana came and we got pizza and anyways God was really moving there and thanks for your prayers i am soo happy i know that they are gonna get saved also pray that when i get hecklers cause i somewhat had one today but he wasnt really bad i just need the patience to deal with them and the ability to thanks again

You got pizza? Man, all I ever get at my class is a doughnut. Of course it is on sunday morning. Not that I wouldn't eat pizza on Sunday morning if it was offered.

The occassional heckler is a good thing. Without their example, the good people wouldn't know how NOT to act. Plus it's great training for you for later. Someday you'll look back and think "I've heard all this before" and have a calm response all ready.

(grammar police) Well after i wrote this i was about to text my YP wifey and tell her because after i lost my cell i found it last night and i look for my purse... someone stole it when i accidently left it upstairs afterwards please please please pary that they get caught and that i at least find my purse i mean it had my Bible tracts in it man i think that is messed up and also that i had al my sonic cards i was selling and 40 dollars now i know that my cell and my money is prolly gone bye bye but that isnt it i dont care im getting a new one it was just a tract phone and i can get more of everything i had in it its just the fact that someone stole my purse ... i mean hello personal property! gosh i dont know im sick of this junk even tonight somone stole offering at church!!! that is even worse than stealing from just a regular person i mean that is stealing from GOD!! so pray 4 them i dont care if i get the money or cellie back i just want them to get saved and to get back my purse and Bible tracts i mean i allerted like all the advisors and the on duty cop and what not and they and i even looked through the surveylence (sp?) cameras.... still nothing ... idk please pray tho

ok im done... OH MY GOSH ok NOW im done lol GUESS WHAT when Delbert (assistant pastor) came to school today it was tight he talked to like 3 people and OH MY GOSH we had 10 people then one left cause her mom was coming to get her and OH MY GOSH it was awesome like 2 guys came, and dana came and it was AWESOME and like when he was preaching a salvation message i mean he was going to have a discussion thing but we had very little time left but some guy named Matt came up in the middle of the sermon thing (pray people will come again next week btw but we are starting a new time were starting at like 11:15 or 11:20 but anyways back to this guy anyways umm afterwards he was talking to Delbert and Pat (my Friends dad) and like he is going to help me with the youth group we are gonig to meet together and pray and stuff it is going to be AWESOME!!!!!!! LIKE OH MY GOSH and lets see... that one guy named dillion and some other chick came and AAAAAAAAAAAH GOD IS SOOO GOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! My assistant pastor had given us 20 dollars for pizza and then that one teacher gave us 20 and we had 10 so we have enough money to get pizza for a while praise God!!!
