I have a lot of problems with my mind and it's started to wear me out. It's hard to focus and think sometimes and it can be frustrating. I thought maybe some of you guys could pray for my mental problems and that I get over this or understand why I am like this. If you guys could please pray, that would be really wonderful. I'd be very thankful. Thanks.

Thank you all very much...I think your prayers are helping me out. For the last week I've had some quiet in my mind and I am so thankful God has helped me out. I really appreciate that you kept me in your prayers. Could you please keep praying for me? I don't want to go back to my old self again. Thank you very much!

Lifting you up, bro. The Bible tells us on several occasions that God is not a god who creates confusion in us, but He is a God of peace, and as His children, He has given us His peace. I pray that His peace would reign in your heart.

Thank you....I hope he will give me this peace...

But sometimes I wonder...Am I really a Christian? I believe in Jesus Christ, that He died for me and loves me....but have I done something wrong to God that is unforgivable?

I dout it. Jesus says there is only one unforgivable sin, blaspheming the Holy Spirit. I heard a message about it once and its harder than it sounds.

That's just it! Ever been tempted? Like if I say don't think of a blue elephant you immedietly think of it. Well ever since I read about that my mind has been tempted to say it. I try immeditely to distract my mind; squirming, arm reflexes, yelling to myself in a quiet room. I don't wanna think evil to the Holy Spirit, but if you try not to think about something it comes in!

So this what has been tiring me out...If only I didn't know blaspheme against the Holy Spirit everything would be fine.

I will pray for you in this. As for your question about being a Christian, I would agree with Ratrace that blasphemy against the Holy Spirit isn't as easy as it seems. Honestly, simply thinking something wrong isn't necessarily blasphemy, we all think things we don't believe at times. What is wrong is meaning blasphemy, actually believing blasphemy. As for whether you are a Christian or not, that is really something you have to figure out for yourself through self examination and the study of scripture. If you truly believe and see God working in your life and conforming you to Him, as He has promised to do in the lives of all Christians, you are saved. The Holy Spirit is the seal of our salvation, and His inner working is a sign of His presence. As Ephesians 1:11-14 says:

11 In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will, 12 so that we who were the first to hope in Christ might be to the praise of his glory. 13 In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until we acquire possession of it, to the praise of his glory.

And Philippians 1:6:

And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Now, that doesn't mean you will be perfect, but it does mean that if you truly believe in Christ and you see the scriptural signs of the inner working of the Holy Spirit, you are saved, because the Holy Spirit is the seal of our salvation. If we have Him as our seal we have no need to fear, no matter what problems or fears we may have.

yeah as others ahve said, S.I, Blasphemy is the only way to lose it...but I think you have to be basically prosatan for that. (Giving Satan Credit for something that the HS did MAY be an example....I am not sure..though.. I will have to do some more research on that.. ^_^.

I would add to this that Jesus said that it's not what goes into a man that defiles him, but what comes out of him (Matthew 15:11). Thoughts of sin can enter our minds, but it doesn't necessarily mean we've sinned. And it's not a sin to be tempted; Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, and we know He never sinned.

Also, remember that when Jesus talked about blasphemy against the Holy Spirit in Matthew 12, the Pharisees had just said that He was casting out demons by the power of the prince of demons, when in reality He cast demons out by the power of the Spirit. In effect, the Pharisees were calling the Holy Spirit, Satan. So I don't think you have to worry that you've blasphemed the Holy Spirit. The fact that you were even concerned about it is a sign to me that you haven't.

The thing is, if Satan can't get us to sin in ways that are considered the more typical "sins," he will try to put defeat us by putting thoughts of doubt in our minds. But in reality, we're children of God; we're more than conquerors through Him who loved us (Romans 8:36).

Hopefully this is of some encouragement. I've struggled with those kinds of doubts and such too, and at times still deal with them. But if you need to talk to someone who's been there, feel free to PM me.

In his healing of the man blind since birth, Jesus made it clear that it was not the man's sin, nor was it the sin of his father or mother that had caused the man to be born blind. We can learn from this, among other things, that it is not God's practice to punish people with health problems for sin. Of course, some types of sinful behavior are self-destructive and can create health problems, but that is us doing it to ourselves, not God's will.

If you are creating stress for yourself that taxes you, certainly go to God in prayer (and the doctor) to attempt to discern if anything under your control can be altered. But in the end, do not question your relationship with God on the basis of physical (or mental) symptoms. Countless Christians live with these problems. Their relationship with God does not necessarily make these problems go away, it just makes bearing them easier because God, through Jesus, knows our problems. Part of living in the Kingdom of God involves not dwelling on the hurts, but looking instead at the good things we are given.

I will be praying for you.

I believe that no matter what the sin, if a person truly repents of it, God will forgive him.
