My cat

Well, I noticed my cat (Penelope) had been acting kind of droopy and sleepy. Which is weird for her, because she's usually pretty energetic. And, I went up and pet her, and she just stared off into space, and hardly noticed me, and didn't start purring or anything. So, I was starting to think something was up.

Anyways, I was about to walk away and do something, when I noticed it looked like the fur on one side of her head was sticking out funny. So, I went to flatten it down or whatever, and I discovered she has a lump on the side of her head. So I showed my mom, and he was feeling it and stuff, but my cat just kind of acted like nothing was happening. Which is really weird, because usually she'll get really mad if you just pet her the wrong way or something. And my mom picked her up, which usually she hates, and she just kind of acted the same way about everything else.

So, I'm really worried about my cat, and right now we don't have the money to take her to the vet. So, please pray for her. :(

I hope you're able to get her to a vet very soon. You could maybe call a local vet and just ask about it. They may be willing to at least let you know what may be wrong just by hearing symptoms. Remind them of the financial situation if they just ask you to bring her in. That way, they may be more willing to share some info over the phone.

I hope she gets better soon, and I'll definitely be praying for her. Let us know what you find out.

Eep, how old is your cat? I'm sorry to hear that but I've had many of my pets go due to age-related illnesses. I usually comfort myself by celebrating the great life my beloved pet had while alive and well. (<.<); But who knows, your cat may be just having a rough week.

If you can't afford a vet, perhaps talking to friends who have experienced with cats may help. I'll pray for God's Will to be done.

Your kitty will be in my prayers....
as will you...
I know how it is to have a pet be ill and not be able to afford the vet....

Some vets will let you pay later when you have money.

I will be praying.

Check out tumors on Google. Make sure it's a reputable vet site!

Aw, I'm sorry to hear that, Zelly! My cat got a hernia one time, and it was when he was still only about a year old-- he never had meowed before, so when I picked him up and he meowed/growled at me, I knew something was fishy. Except I just assumed he was being mean, so I smacked him on the head and said, "No, bad kitty!" Hey, it was years ago and I was stupid. At least I noticed something was wrong.

Anyways, have you asked your mom if anyone you know is a vet? If nothing else, she might know someone who knows someone that is a vet, it'd probably at least be worth asking. And I think that Roger's suggestion that you call a vet is a good one, just explain right away that you can't afford a visit but that if they could possibly share any kind of info over the phone it'd be cool. I really hope she gets better and that everything turns out OK-- I'll be praying for her!
