Dead little boy

Postby Doubleshadow » Wed Feb 01, 2006 7:52 pm

At service tonight, our Pastor told us about a local tragedy. He has known this family for years; he knew the father as a little boy, was his youth pastor, and married him and his wife. This summer, the father and mother renewed their vows after eleven years of marriage, and their son was in the wedding. Yesterday, as his father was coming home from work, his three year old ran out to meet his daddy. The father did not see his son as he backed into the driveway, ran over him with his truck, and killed him. Our pastor is clearly heartbroken for the family, so I cannot imagine what the parents must be feeling right now. Please keep this family in your prayers.

Aw, that's so heartbreaking, I can't imagine how horribly responsible and guilty he must feel! I'll pray for them.
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

That's a tragedy. I will remember the boy in my supplication.

Oh my... that's really terrible news. I'll pray that the family would be comforted and that God would surround them with encouragement and hope.
