New Ministry at my Church

Postby Blitzkrieg1701 » Mon Jan 30, 2006 10:10 am

My Church is getting ready to start a Sunday night young adult ministry to be called Epicenter and we could deffinately use some prayer support. There's a lot of stuff involved in starting this sort of thing from scratch, and we're still figuring most of it out. See, our church (and, to tell the truth, most in our area) have kind of overlooked the age group between grade school kids and their parents for a while now. The need for an outreach liek this is pretty obvious, so we're all hoping things turns out all right.

We're having big Super Bowl Party to try and get the word out (and use as a dry run for managing large numbers of people) so if you could specifically pray for that event, it would be very appreciated.

Oh, and if anybody is gonna be around Youngsville, North Carolina on a Sunday evening, looks us up!

Sounds good. Lifted one; let us know how it goes!
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

Sounds like that has great potential! I will be praying that God prepares people's hearts to be changed and moved in this new group.

Well, the big party was last night and it was a BIG success! There were well over a hundred people, and lots of fun and fellowship was had by all! Thanks for the prayer everyone! If you'd like to see the results I took a bunch of pictures that should be on my Xanga in a day or two, and I think the church website will have a video on the whole shindig by next week. Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg. Next week is the first "real" night of Epicenter, so please don't stop the praying now.

And, once again, anyone who's around Raleigh on a Sunday night is strongly encouraged to come by and join us!
