Loneliness....

*le sigh* I was hoping to not have to get more prayer on this....array of different issues I am having problems with, but people could always use prayer!

I'm back at college and suddenly realized something: I am extremely lonely. My roommate at my apartment is never around, kind of doesn't treat me so well sometimes....it's a really complicated situation. She is saved, and I would like to talk to her about this as a Christian sister, but the problem is that she seems to see me as a naive little kid and won't really take me seriously. I think a lot of this is due to last year when I actually DID act like a naive little kid and she had to mother me a lot, and because of an extreme difference in our personalities. I really need to talk to her about this, though, please pray that I get a time and the courage which I desperately need to confront her about this.

Aside from that, I really don't have many friends to hang out with, which last semester ultimately led to being alone a lot at my apartment. This is dangerous. I have bipolar and don't do too well being alone all the time because I get depressed. And when I'm depressed, I doubt God which makes me more depressed and it just spirals down. So.......................there you have my life story! haha.

Anyways, this is REALLY long, and I really hate asking people to pray for me. So I'm gonna stop here, but everyone have a nice day/night/tomorrow! ;)

I'll be praying for you. Have courage, depend on God, he'll be there when no one else is. ( you already knew that though )

thank you for writing this request. Pigtails. :)
I had to pray! ^^
and about that thing about doubting G-d: do you doubt Jesus?
Did he really exist? ( details, details in the Bible )
If so, was He a lier or telling the truth?

Hey, I can understand what you mean about being alone. I don't think anyone really enjoys that. I'll pray for you and your situation and that God would help you through your bi-polar condition. Don't feel bad for asking for prayer. We ALL need prayer and just because we need prayer doesn't make anyone more or less spiritual. In fact, asking for prayer shows that you believe that it works, so thanks for sharing this request with us.

[I]24 “The LORD bless you and keep you;
25 The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
26 The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.â€

Well, if you ever do get un perked-up, feel free to shoot me an IM. If I'm on, I'm quite good at getting people out of states of being un-generally-perked-uped. Prayer always helps, but a chat or two never hurts while waiting for the prayer results to kick in ^_^

The lonely college life, I know how that goes. I'll be praying for ya! Remember that you're never alone if you have God in your life. It may seem that way a lot at times, it helps for me just to go outside and take a walk or somethin to clear my head and view God's creation as a reminder of what He can do. Also, look into various groups in your church or just churches in general to attend and be with other Christians.

In regards to the many questions I've received....

When I doubt God (this is all spiritual warfare, by the way....it's really obvious), it is generally whether or not He exists. To me....this is almost ridiculous, because I hadn't really ever doubted whether there was a God or not even before I accepted Christ. I suppose I also get myself into a few quandries leading to this reading apologetics books all the time... But I do this because one of my best friends is an ardent agnostic who hates Christianity, and I want to be a light for her. Especially since she's one of those intellectual types... But despite the doubting, I do believe Jesus was/is who He says, and every word the Bible says :)

I do belong to a church and an organization on campus (Navigators), and I'm in a small group in the church as well, but....complicated circumstances always seem to mess up things a bit as to whether or not I have friends in either place that I can hang out with. Plus there's that whole being a wee bit shy thing and...blah

The bipolar is under control, no worries, I've been on medication for over 2 years, and it's really bipolar 3, which is a really mild form of it. The only real problems I have are with depression when I forget to take my medicine for few days at a time.... oops....

Thank you!!!!!! :)

Just wanted to let you guys know that the first prayer request (about talking to my roommate) was definitely answered yesterday, and it was a really good, fruitful discussion as well. Praise God!

I would suggest that if you don't have any friends at the church that you're at, you look for a college group that meets on Wednesday nights or something. I know you've said you're shy, but the best place to look for friends who will accept you and uplift you is in the body of God. Other than that, I've prayed for you, and I'll try to remember to keep you in my prayers (I'm painfully forgetful! :\) And remember that if you ever need someone to talk to most of the people here-- myself included ;)-- would love to chat with you via pm! :thumb:

I'm praying for your friend too!

Here's a question for agnostics/ atheists:
If there is no G-d, how can there be eternity?

You're gonna have to explain that one a little better, sport.

OH MY GOSH, THANK YOU!

haha I need prayer for my atheist and agnostic friends so bad....

I think my main concern of needing prayer at this very current moment (except for what is listed directly above) is really concerning doubt. I thought I was out of the woods in my problems with doubt, but it just keeps hitting and hitting hard. I was discussing this with one of my friends today...that we have a part of our personalities (just me & her) that is both a gift and a curse: being able to see both sides of an argument. This can be very very good and very very bad. Right now, it isn't the very very good as far as I know (though God could be using it...). So...I really just need prayer against doubt....this has been a problem since October (and naturally, accompanied pain, like I think most doubt is). Well, at least when it's over I will have a much better understanding of who God is!

Exactly! You'll be able to help others out who have similar doubts. Being able to see both sides of an argument isn't bad. God gave us a brain so that we could use it. Just think critically and research what you want to know. I'll pray that God would bring you through this season of doubt. BTW, if you have any questions or anything you'd like to discuss about God, feel free to PM me.

I'm just resurrecting this for praise for God, because after nearly a year of loneliness (and the latter 4 months being hardcore loneliness), I do believe I'm outta there! ^_^ He has really provided me with some great company, both those to witness to and have fellowship with, and silenced many of the doubts. AND I think I'm out of depression (though depression is a monster....you can never be so sure). So....praise Him!!!

huh?
Well, imagine everything coming from just some big bange, how did this big bang make the universe eternal? How can something, as supernatural as eternity exist without G-d?

Take matter for instance, we've got a molecule, which is made up of atoms, the atoms are made up of smaller particles ( electrons, protons, neutrons ), which again are made up of quarks, which again are made up of...and again...and again...and again made up of...and again...

what is the smallest particle? IS there even a smallest particle? OK, if it is, what is THAT made up of?

see? Now where did that all come from, it's not possible for that to come out of a big bang where the supernatural is not involved with, because...I mean, somewhere those smallest of the smallest particles ( which probably don't even exist ) must have come from something.

Now, let's turn it around to macro: The universe goes on and on, and if it's got an end, what's after that..and that...and that...and....?
where DID this eternal space come from w/h the involvement of the supernatural?

In the end one just needs to through the towel and say there MUST be a G-d ( otherwise such things wouldn't be possible ), either that, or they'll most likely end in the hospital. lol. XD

I hope that explenation was good enough. :P

Eccl 3:11
1 He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end.
NKJV

G-d put eternity in our hearts, so that we could find Him that way. ;)

In response to Ryupower, I'm glad to see you have a handle (albeit tenuous) on the idea of the prime mover theodicy. How this relates to eternity or negates the possibility of a godless universe from a materialistic standpoint, you have yet to show me. In any case, it'd be best if we found an apologetic platform a little easier to articulate.
