Hey all this one girl who i used to hang out with (she is only 15) was sleeping with this (now ex) police cheif (38 years old) of my town and he is going to jail for rape although it was consentual (she was bragging about sleeping with hime to the entire school and i heard about it from some ppl who knew although i dont agree with what those 2 did i still think they should BOTH get in trouble and that he shouldnt have to go to jail for a rape he didnt commit from what i hear she claimed rape when being questioned although i hear 15 differant stories from the newspaper and tv and other people but what makes this worse... HER PARENTS KNEW THEY WERE DATING (not sleeping with eachother) so yeah and her parents didnt care they were dating ne ways yeah ill update later i g2g to the store.

Well....the thing is that the ages that separate it from being consentual and rape are determined by law in the US from what I know (correct me if I'm wrong anyone). I do believe that those ages are 16 to 25. So....since he's well over 25 and she's under 16, that's (from my knowledge) lawful to prosecute as rape, even if everyone claims it to be consentual. I will pray for them...do you know if either of them are saved?

If she's under 16, it's considered rape under law. Any adult will know this.
I hope the old lecher gets maximum sentence. I also hope that the girl's parents don't get away so easily either.
Edit: Looks like PigtailsJazz pointed it out first while I was typing.

well, the guy did break the law, and he sinned. I don't know what to pray for than that the Lord will shine through the consequences he's about to reap.

This is kind of a pedantic point, but it depends on the state. Here in California, the difference in ages is important and the fact she's under 18. There's a few other things that apply to considering whether statutory rape has been committed as well (which may well be consensual).
All that being said, he was either willfully or unintentionally stupid, and he did commit a crime (even if it was a consensual one). If she lied, however, it's doubly tragic.
Both parties need prayer.

Indeed, indeed. Let's pray for the girl, the man, and anyone else involved in this situation.

Technically, they could have just gone to (IIRC) West Virginia, where the age at which you can marry is 13 (with parents' agreement) and done it completely legally. But if the guy was a cop, he ought to be fully cognizant of the law in regard to what's considered statutory rape.
Conclusion: he did what he did in a really dumb way. Her bragging about it wasn't too smart either.

Going to an area where it would be legal wouldn't make it right...

I'll pray. Something about his does not make sense, facts are being twisted somewhere along way, I'm sure.
