I'm praying, man. I understand the temptation, and it's no small thing. I suggest you spend as much time in God's presence as you possibly can. The more time you're with Him, the less time you'll have to be tempted by hentai. It works, although sometimes I falter in my time with God.
Close friends to encourage you is also a big help. Do you have someone that you can spill to? Someone you can talk to after you fail, it always helps to share the pain with someone you trust.

This is a problem best combatted slowly. Make progress when you can, but don't try to take this on all at once, or you might end up in a worse place than you started.

here is my advice and it might be hard..

STOP GOING ONLINE! Maybe if only for a while. If you have the internet in your room or dormroom. undo it for a while. If you have to reasearch something for college or whatever go to the library. This isn't something that one can just mess around with. This kinda stuff is icky stuff...and a habit is still a habit, an addiction is still addiction. God can help you through it, but you ultimately have to make the choice.

I will pray for you though! ^_^

EDIT: Btw you are not an idiot..that's mean...and I agree spend time with God!

Here is a good way to telll if you are sinning and all that...Use the Verse John 10:10 It's about how the "thief" comes only to steal, kill and Destroy.

Pornography does all of these things. I don't know you in real life so I am not sure how..but I am sure it is doing these things, because that is what sin does. That is what Satan wants for you to robbed, killed and Destroyed...spiritually.

^_^ I like the way CR thinks! Like I used to get into all kinds of trouble with this file-sharing program (an easy way around the blocks installed on my computer) but I finally got fed up and deleted the program. Cutting yourself off from the internet isn't a bad idea at all. Or you could (something I have done) Make your homepage or your wallpaper say something like "God is always watching." Or say a prayer like this whenever you log on. "Lord, I'm entering a place where Satan will take his blows at my integrity. I ask that you will protect my mind and guide my actions. Keep my thoughts and motives pure, because my body is a temple for Your spirit, and I want to honor You in everything I do, so watch over me, my King. Amen."
That's the prayer I always say ^_^ It helps!

I also think Fireproof has a good point. Don't try and tackle it all at once, because you'll only dissapoint yourself and feel like a failure. Just take it a little bit at a time and focus on certain smaller goals. And above all Don't beat yourself up if you fall. God forgives you even before you ask Him, and knocking yourself around because you think you're stupid and a failure isn't going to help anything! Always stay positive.

Do any of the people around you know that you struggle with this? Do you have an accountability group that you are a part of? Confession is almost completely essential in this issue, which is something you have done here at the CAA. but i struggled with this issue for a while too, and I mentioned it here at the CAA, I found that that is so much easier than confessing the problem to people who are more to me than simply a username or an avatar. I had been able to stop after reading a book, it's short and helpful. It's by Randy Alcorn and it's titled The Purity Principle and it's by LifeChange Books. You should pick it up from a Christian book store, and if they don't have it available, have them order it.

I've struggled with this sin too, and now, by the grace of God and some awesome people, I have gotten past it. I'm recovering well, I'm in my devotions daily (which is absolutely necessary for conquering this problem)
Have you been to xxxchurch.com?

anyway. I'm praying for you

I'll keep you in prayer, man. The most I can say is what it says in God's word:

Your word I have hidden in my heart, that I might not sin against You.
Psalm 119:11

Memorizing God's word isn't some magic-potion remedy against sin, but when God's word gets into you, there's definately something powerful that happens. Just remember, it's entirely possible to quit at any time. God has given us everything we need to do so. I pray that you would fulfill your desire to live in purity by trusting in the Lord's strength.

you know what i've realized about my past failure. it started after a few days forgetting to read the bible and after i learned that I failed three classes in college. That's probally what started it up again. Funny how when we get down in the dumps we look for things to cheer us up and totally forget about the one we've found comfort in. I also keep forgeting that God said he would never gives up more temptation than we can handle but a way out. I can't believe that i haven't noticed it. Everytime i went on-line for the wrong reason(even though it was at least 80 degree weather) I was shaking like it was 40 below. That has to be the Holy Spirit.

You took the words right out of my mouth SH. If you are totally serious about over comming this (and you can, by Gods grace) then an essential part of the process is to confess your sin with your mouth. Here on the internet its a bit easier because you dont really have to answer to any of us.

It seams no question that you know this is a big problem for you. I echo SH in encouraging you to seek out a mature Christian whom you personally know and confess your sin to them, pray with them and have them hold you accountable. It's definately not the most easy thing to do, but guarenteed you will feel the burden beging to release by doing so. Just remember that you cannot win against sin alone, you need God and you need other Christians.

I will be praying for you roadoffew, and everyone else who is struggling with this.
Depend on it. God's work done in God's way will never lack God's supply. He is too wise a God to frustrate His purposes for lack of funds, and He can just as easily supply them ahead of time as afterwards, and He much prefers doing so.
- J. Hudson Taylor
I remember that one fateful day when Coach took me aside. I knew what was coming. "You don't have to tell me," I said. "I'm off the team, aren't I?" "Well," said Coach, "you never were really ON the team. You made that uniform you're wearing out of rags and towels, and your helmet is a toy space helmet. You show up at practice and then either steal the ball and make us chase you to get it back, or you try to tackle people at inappropriate times." It was all true what he was saying. And yet, I thought something is brewing inside the head of this Coach. He sees something in me, some kind of raw talent that he can mold. But that's when I felt the handcuffs go on.

some things that have helped me in dealing with this same problem:

- Most important is reading the Bible daily (on 'bad' days more than once even) and praying often (for me I think of my prayer life as keeping a conversation going with God all day. it starts when I wake up and say "good morning Lord", from there just telling Him everything whenever I have a free moment).

- As others have said, telling someone you know that will care is important. Knowing there is someone else out there praying for you that will ask you how you are doing is very helpful.

- One thing I started when first addressing this was to keep a journal where I committed to being honest with myself, to keep myself accountable. Each night making an entry on how I did that day. This was really just a complex version of making a check on a calendar marking days that were "good". Being able to look back and see all those 'good' marks helps if nothing else than for the thought "look at all that work that could be lost with this one act".

- Watching what else I allow to enter my mind is also important, giving into a little compromise in what I watch can put me on a dangerous track that makes temptation that much more difficult later on.

- Two books that have helped: Every Young Man's Battle (apparently the initial edition (Every Man's Battle) of this assumes you are married) and Not Even a Hint (I believe he may have renamed and reprinted this as "Sex is not the problem, Lust is") A lot of what is said in these books (and others like them) feels like it should be common sense, but when you're dealing with this it helps to have someone else telling you that. Both are Biblically based and well written (fairly quick reads).

Over all it is important to keep in mind that I can't do this under my own power, it is very much God working in me and I am ever grateful for that.

I'll add you to my prayers.

I'd like to add a few more things, in light of what has been said recently. Having recovered from that very problem, I know that it is hard to confess it to someone. But once I did, a huge load was lifted, and I started making progress in my walk with God again. It was as if the whole time that i'd been struggling with this sin, a sort of wall had been up between me and God. When I did my devotions, I never got as much out of them as I do now. Even recently I feel as though I now connect when I read my Bible, where as before, I couldn't seem to understand the stuff I was reading. Well, I could, but it was only a shallow understanding. Nothing more than surface level.

The simplest way that I can understand therapy is that we're born a certain way, we're taught to be something different, and we spend our whole lives trying to unravel it and ultimately align ourselves with who we really are. Life, experiences, traumas -- whatever -- they all add up to make you some altered version of what you are. So there's this battle that goes on between what you are and what you become, and it's been very important for me to unravel what I was taught to be or what I became. and to draw a direct parallel to music -- the closer I get back to being who I really am, the stronger the music gets..." --Billy Corgan (Smashing Pumpkins frontman)

good job! :)

And here are some thought provoking questions:

Do you think your future wife would be happy with this?
Do you think that, being Holy, you should defile the Body of G-d?
And would you like it if your crush or someone like that was fantasizing, and looking at crap like that?

Battle has started up again. Got sick and was left alone with my computer. I'm going to get the e-mails of some of my closest friends(whom I see everyday) and set them up on the X3watch. X3watch is a program that reads when you have been to bad sites and e-mails the info to your acountability partners. I use to have it going to my parents but they live 5 hours away. Doing this would be better. Keep me in your prayers because the devil is still trying to tempt me.

Keep up the fight, young knight. The tempting of the devil takes place constantly, but the temptation itself is not sin. Giving in to it, however, is. Therefore, just take it day by day and don't give up, even if you feel that you've fail. The Lord is good and He will pick you up when you have fallen.

Keep this verse in your heart: Proverbs 24:16 - "for though a righteous man falls seven times, he rises again, but the wicked are brought down by calamity."

You will not be brought down if you keep choosing to get back up again. Satan will lie to you and tell you that you're a monster and that God could never forgive someone that has done what you have (personal experience speaking). Here's my advice: ignore that Hell-destined liar. God's forgiveness is eternal; His mercy, infinite. All you have to do is ask for His forgiveness and He will grant it. Then, with training and more exposure to the word of God, this act will be no match for you at all. You will defeat this enemy. So, take heart. Persevere and you will be victorious for God's glory.
