Old high school friend's mother died

Postby Rogie » Fri Dec 02, 2005 3:06 pm

Hey, guys, I got a call just a while ago from an old high school friend who I hadn't talked to in years. His mother passed away last night. He's in the military and is stationed in Pearl Harbor, so he'll be flying in this weekend. Unfortunately, I'm three hours away from our hometown where the funeral's at and classes are ending, so I'm gonna have to miss it probably. I should be able to get back late next week in time to catch up with him, but it's just a difficult time to do stuff like that, when a death is involved. The reunion won't be a happy one.

Anyway, he hadn't even seen his mom in a long time, he just got married, and it's the Christmas season, so I'm sure this is going to be pretty rough. Please pray for him, for him and his wife to have a safe trip home, and for all of his mother's loved ones during this time.

Thanks, guys.

I will pray for your friend and his family.

Lifted one for him, and for you that you could be of encouragement to him in this time.
Theme Scripture: Stand fast therefore in the liberty by which Christ has made us free, and do not be entangled again with a yoke of bondage. (Galatians 5:1)

And a verse for all us single folks: Do we have no right to take along a believing wife, as do also the other apostles, the brothers of the Lord, and Cephas? (1 Corinthians 9:5)

Very sorry about your firends situation, I'll pray that God comforts him during the Holiday season and that if you're able to contact him God will grant you the words you need to give him comfort. I hope everything turnes out well,
God bless,
Archan
