Somewhat bummed, and without a job

Hi. I might as well spill it out. This afternoon I was asked to meet up with my supervisor at the corporate office. I was surprised, no doubt, but when the HR director came into the room as well, I knew it had to be either good news or not-so-good news. Well, it was the latter. Because of my errors while working, they (and they were sorry to say it) had to remove me from the agency. I received my last pay checks, signed the form and all, and just cried. It was awful.

In spite of that, there are some good things. They told me they did admire my commitment, in spite of what had taken place here and there. At least I still have that, and my degree and now 4 months of experience at ALL THE SITES.

I would still appreciate your prayers. This (no doubt) is a very awkward situation, being without a job I've kept for the longest time so far, and now having to look for a new one once the shock wears off. Thanks again.

Sounds like you've been able to learn a lot. I know it's never fun to be kicked off a job or something such as that, but just imagine what God may have planned next. Maybe being removed from the one job is a step in putting you in a place where you can be an even better witness for Him. I'll be prayin' that you can find another good job. Keep looking and praying. I'll pray for you, too, Gohan.

Thanks, everyone. I'm also thankful for my family. True, they weren't all too happy at the news (and who wouldn't?), but they are still sticking by my side and encouraging me.

Right now I've updated my resume'. Please pray that God will lead me to the right job. I know it's going to be more difficult, since now I've got "FIRED" on my work record. But I do know this: It's God who's in control, not the HR directors.

What type of jobs are you looking for?

Something in social services. I have the certificate from a social worker certification program. That, or a case manager.

I'll pray for you as well... mainly that it won't take more than a couple of months at most for you to find something new.

Personal Experience: Before I worked at Blockbuster, I was out of work for a year and six months. Yes, it sucked, but I had almost no control over it. That's how it may be for you (the near-lack of control part, not the 1.5 year unemployment part), but remember that you're in God's hands. No matter how things may get in any situation, He always has your best in mind and He will lead you to where you need to be, right when you need to be there. Never forget that. :thumb:

Good news. I am going tomorrow for an interview at a psych hospital for a counselor position. I'm a bit nervous, but after speaking with them on the phone, I just stretched out on my bed and prayed. The farthest I've stepped foot in a psych hospital is the lobby. Pray that I can speak clearly that it all goes well, whether I'm hired on the spot or have to continue searching. Thanks.

Alright! Job at at a psych hospital! Take me with you!

Kidding, obviously. However, it does seem we're interested in the same line of work. I'm majoring in Psych. and would love to be some sort of social worker.

Praying for you to do well.

Came back from the interview. It went well. Started off with a tour of the place (it's pretty big) and then sat down and had a Q & A session. First off, the guy, John, looked at my application and asked about the "involuntary termination" and what took place. I explained everything, and assured him that I had learned my lesson.

He also asked about my duties at my last job, and how I felt while touring the facility. I told him it might take a while to adjust, but it's not a far step from my old job, since I did fill in at their behavior modification center. I also said that I don't have any tricks, and if clients start following me around and express that they like me as a person, well, it's just me. I have no magic formulas whatsoever.

John then told me he's going to be doing a few more interviews before he decides on the person for the job. I did tell him I was interested and that it'll be some time before I'm completely used to it. He thanked me, and that was it.
