Prayers Needed

There has been trouble at the highschool department at our church. It has driven away some of my close friends, one of my friends even had to go to a differnt church just to join a small group! It has become more concerned about making it fun for the kids, and less concerned about teaching them Godly princeples, they never teach by example, and often they turn a cold shoulder to the geekier kids. I feel as if God is telling me to confront the youth leaders about it. If you all would pray for me, and if you knew any versus that would be appropriate I would very much appreciate it.

Something that you could bring up is the fact that if people, esp young people, aren't taught and fed on the Word of God, they will not be strong enough to face the troubles that come there way. Leaders are called the 'feed the sheep':
John 21:15-18a
When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"
"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."
Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?"
He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you."
Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep."
The third time he said to him, "Simon son of John, do you love me?"
Peter was hurt because Jesus asked him the third time, "Do you love me?" He said, "Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you."
18 Jesus said, "Feed my sheep" ...
Ezekiel 34:2-5
2 "Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Woe to the shepherds of Israel who only take care of themselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock?
3 You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock.
4 You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally.
5 So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals.
>_< Kinda heavy going that last one... anyway, keep us updated k?

Ah, I know how you feel. The teen class in my church has been getting the cold shoulder. They spend most of their time with the younger kids, which is good, but there are a lot of things I feel we could be doing that we aren't. Confronting your youth leaders a very good idea. Maybe offer some suggestions for things YOU would like to do and feel would be good for the group. Good luck!

Lord, Heavenly Father
This situation is close to my heart you know. I pray that these leaders would have a revelation of your word and be guided by the Holy Spirit to see the responsibilty that is in their hands. Lord we know that there are times to have fun and times to joke, but also there must be a time to become more like you. A time to take the word of god and applpy it to our lives i the power of the holy Spirit.
Also I prayer that as rjdreamer does come forward and talks to the leaders that you would give her the boldness, courage, humility and stregth to lay it out in a fashion that is organised in order and based on your word. I pray that Your Holy Spirit minister to all involved in this situation and that the group be restored in a loving and encoraging way. That those effected would be exorted yet comforted. I pray for wisdom and knowledge for both rjdreamer and the leaders. Lord may no egos or self centered pride get in the way of your refining LOVE.

You guys are all great! I feel so encouraged, and now I know that I am going to do this. My mom says to wait until after christmas, but part of me feel I need to do this sooner. All I need now is the words to say, and the humility to present them rightly. I know that because of your prayers God will give me these. And thanks Gon, since you go to my church, and know what I am talking about, it makes me feel much more confident to know that I am not the only one left who thinks this.
