More nightmares...

They're getting a bit worse...okay, here's what they are...if anyone flames me about werewolves I'm going to flip, so please refrain.
Okay, pretty much every night I dream that I am leaping out my window and transforming into a wolf and running through the woods near my house. That's fun, but lately the dreams have turned violent...I had a dream a few nights ago that there was someone sneaking into my house and I jumped them and...well, killed them...other things have happened too in my dreams...I've killed demon dogs in my dreams...they were demons but it's still freaking me out. And lately I've been getting really weird, like snarling when I'm mad...okay, I'm dropping it now...please, just pray that my dreams are more pleasant.
Another dream I've had that's not like that is there's a white wolf on a path just ahead of me and we're in the woods, alone. As soon as I see him he howls and then I'm sort of entranced...he turns and bounds away, really slow and ghostly, like the Black Rabbit in Watership Down...and I have to follow him...he's in pretty much every dream I've had and I'm trying to figure out who he's supposed to be. It's weird. I think he has an earring or something...

Strange indeed. And I kinda snarl when I'm mad, but I'm thinking mine's a different snarl than what you're talking about. Anyway, sorry to get off-topic so quickly. I'll pray that you'll find the answers you're looking for and that God may give you peace in your sleep and dreams.

No, when I'm mad my lips curl back. o_O It only happens when I'm really, really mad and I can't control it. It's really frustrating. There were these jerks who were messing with me and trying to tick me off and I snarled at them...well, it just made it worse. -__-
Thank you for the prayers.

Taking a look at your bio page, you seem to have a lot of wolf-stuff going on. With an earring? Maybe an easy way to denote (to you) a female, that might be less threatening. Or not. Do you know someone that wears an earring (that you might remember as distinctive) that this white wolf might represent? If you fill up your mind with repeated examples of the same symbols (or class of symbols), your subconscious might have no choice other than to use these to communicate, vent frustration, or remind you that too much caffeine before bedtime is not a good thing.
Some of this might be difficult to discuss in an open thread, I know. PM me if you want.

I don't know anyone with an earring. The wolf is a male, that's all I know.
I don't ever drink caffeine either...*shrugs*

Score zero for me. Just showing my age, assuming only women and pirates wear earrings.
Well, that pretty much means I'll stick with praying for you, which I will.

Ok, pipe down and just admit that you're 10,000% obsessed with wolves and the like. I think this is more an idol issue than anything else. As I just said, you're obsessed with them. That hardly leaves room for any other kinds of thoughts, even when you're asleep. Since you're always talking wolves this and wolves that, how can you NOT expect to have dreams about them?
I mean, c'mon. I LOVED the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles when I was little. They even showed up in my dreams a few times. But you know what? They were just dreams, reflecting some thoughts that appeared while I was still conscious.
I think you should stop focusing on these dreams and instead try to find the heart of the problem. Like I said, it looks more and more like you've made an idol out of a simple animal. That's all I have to say.

Okay, what makes me obsessed with wolves? I can just as easily say you're obsessed with anime. I'm sick and tired of people saying I'm "obsessed" with wolves. I don't think about wolves when I'm going to sleep, I pray myself to sleep.
And about talking wolves this and wolves that, you talk anime this and anime that, so you must be obsessed with anime, right? Honestly, this is a prayer thread. How is what you just said going to encourage me?

Hey HoS,
First, let me say that I'm so sorry that you're having to stuggle with something like this. I'm sure it's scary and confusing. Not that my apologizing will change anything, but, please, just know that my heart really does ache for you. *gives internet hug*
Next, I just wanted to say that I believe there are two possibilities concerning these dreams: 1) you like wolves and think about them alot. For that reason, you think about them. Dreams don't have to be something that you thought about the moment before you slept. For the sake of exanple, when I was probably 13, I was obsessed with becoming a doctor. I would watch all the doctor shows (except the really bloody onces where they completely cut people up) I could and I probably had atleast one medicine related dream a week for a very long time. 2) The other option is that Satan is pressing these thoughts on you to put a stumbling block in your way. Personally, I wonder that this might be the most likely.
HoS, darling, you are completely, one hundred precent a precious young woman, made in the image of a loving God. With the precious uniqueness that we are given as part of our molding in God's likeness, we're given the gift of individuality. Part of your sweet personality is the fact that you have a very tender heart towards animals. God does too, as a matter of fact (he takes note when a sparrow dies, afterall) so I'm sure that your love of his creation is special to him, and I respect you very much for your tenderness towards animals.
But because you identify and dream about wolves doesn't in any way make you a wolf, and, furthermore, I'm glad it's not possible. Afterall, as a human being, you're given the beautiful ability to be a friend of God's. No portion of creation is given that ability.
When you talk about snarling when you're mad, that doesn't mean you're a "werewolf" or anything to that effect. It just means that you're angry, that you find wolves powerful, probably intimidating, and a source of real strength. Furthermore, I know people who are obsessed with video games who snarl when they're mad. Don't get hung up on the snarling, alright, dear? I'm sure it's really not that important. *Osaka stubs her toe and begins shouting medical nonsense*
Don't obsess about "what the dream means". Dreams, excluding those given expressly by God for a purpose are just nonsense that your subconsciencious creates. If God was giving this dream as some sort of message and all these things that happened were supposed to have a meaning, you wouldn't be confused about it. My sister once had a dreams she killed our pastor. It wasn't that she wanted to kill him (infact, she loved him as much, if not more, than any of us). It was just a dream. When you start looking for meaning in dreams, you'll probably find more interest amongst new age type groups. It's all around a dangerous road to go down.
I'm not going to tell you to give up wolves. I can't tell you to do that, but I will tell you this: If I was having anime related dreams which were truly upsetting me-- I would give it up. I'm not saying you should do it because wolves are wrong or because you're necessarily obsessed, but the reoccurance of these dreams must tell you something about the importance of wolves in your life. Is this healthy? If you pray about it, and it's not something that you're led away from, so be it. I would never claim to know you better than God. But give it a lot of prayer, Heart. I want you to be free from these nightmares, and, if that involves giving up wolves, I would pray you would be willing to do it. Still, I won't condemn you for what you do. I will be praying for you, though, and if I you ever want to talk out of the prayer room or you think that I'm totally off base, PM me, okay?

A white wolf... Am I the only one thinking God/Jesus here? I am not a great believer in demon possesion, but I have a feeling that there are spiritual forces at work here.
As soon as I read white wolf wanting to be followed, I thought God/Jesus. Maybe an Angel. Have you followed him yet in your dream? Try going back to the basics in christainity, or places you feel you have fallen short in. We all have them.
Maybe God wants you to protect you from whatever is causing you to snarl and become more wolf like. However, be careful. It could be a demon in desguise.
What did the earing look like? Maybe you have some subconcious connection with holyness or demonkind with that earring. As I don't know which way the wolf is leading you, I can't say who or what it is. But if it gives you a peaceful loving feeling, then I am pretty sure it is God.
Then again, I could have just read to many fantasy books and looking to deeply at this. ^_^*
I am praying for you, my sister in the Lord.

Thank you.
I seriously doubt the white wolf symbolizes God. He doesn't give me a peaceful feeilng, he sort of entrances me and I have to follow him. (You're not suggesting that I'm possessed, right?)
Anyway, I found a dream translator on the Internet and this is what I got:
Earrings (the white wolf had an earring)
To dream that you or someone is wearing earrings, suggests that you need to listen more carefully and pay attention.
Wolf (the white wolf in the dream with the earring)
To see a wolf in your dream, symbolizes beauty, solitude, mystery, self-confidence and pride. You are a loner by choice. Negatively, it represents hostility and aggression. It may also reflect an uncontrollable force or situation in your life. In particular, if the wolf is white, then it signifies valor and victory. You have the ability to see the light even in your darkest hours.
Werewolf (The white wolf was making me become a werewolf)
To dream that you are a werewolf, suggests that some aspects of your personality are hurtful and even dangerous to your own well-being. You are headed down an undesirable path. Alternatively, it refers to your repressed instincts.
Woods (I was following the white wolf through the woods)
To see the woods in your dream, represents life, fertility, rejuvenation, and spring. Alternatively, it symbolizes the unknown and unconscious. You may be discovering your instinctual nature.
To dream that you are walking through the woods, signifies your return to an aspect of yourself that is innocent and spiritual.
Hotel (I was heading towards a hotel)
To see a hotel in your dream, signifies a new state of mind or a shift in personal identity. You need to move away from your old habits and old way of thinking.
Camera (I was trying to take a picture of the white wolf)
To see a camera in your dream, signifies your desires to cling on and/or live in the past. Alternatively, it may represent you need to focus on a particular situation. Perhaps you need to get a clearer picture or idea.
Cat (the cat was next to the wolf)
to see a cat in your dream, signifies much misfortune, treachery, and bad luck. However, for the cat lover, cats signifies an independent spirit, creativity, and power.
Stones (mom collecting stones)
To see stones in your dream, symbolizes strength, unity, and unyielding beliefs. Consider the common phrase "etched in stone" which suggest permanence and unchanging attitudes. Some stones also carry sacred and magical meanings. Alternatively, stones may relate to issues of moral judgment and/or guilt.
Pebbles (she was also getting pebbles)
To see pebble in your dream, represents minor difficulties and annoyances in your life.
To dream that you are throwing pebbles, suggests that you are feeling hurt be the little things that may seem insignificant. It is symbolic of criticism and gossip.
Cave (mom in the cave, collecting stones)
To dream that you are walking in a dark cave, signifies refuge or the unconscious mind. It also denotes that you experience some unexpected misfortune or disagreement.
Mother (she was calling me while in the cave with the stones)
To hear your mother call you in your dream, signifies that you have been negligent in your duties and responsibilities. You are pursuing down the wrong path.

Just as a word of warning, dream interpretation is always a sketchy subject. It always has been, because you can't ever give a concrete answer as to what something represents in a dream. In fact, most psychologists will NOT do dream interpretation because of the problems inherent in trying to do so...the ONLY time a decent psychologist will interpret a dream is to make the patient feel better, not because he has any clue what it means.
To support that dream interpretation is pointless, I could say that Sigmund Freud would definitely interpret the "mother" thing and the pebbles in a completely different way that you don't want to hear about. That's because of the different views psychologists have on dreams (whether they are due to random firing of neurons, based on memory, problem solving skills, etc.).
I mean, I had a dream the other night that I fought evil moose from outer space. Another night I dreamed I had godlike powers and destroyed the planet. Another night I dreamed I was in a Catholic Mass and was told to reject my Protestant beliefs.
Do I think any of these dreams are a "message" from God? No. There are many factors that contributed to these dreams, and I can't say for sure or not that these dreams have any significant meaning beyond that my brain is bored when I'm in REM sleep.
I am praying for you, Heart of Sword, but I really think you should leave the dreams for what they are--dreams--and move on to more important aspects of life, such as how you can actively devote yourself to serving God. ^^

Oh, it's not a concrete answer at all, but I thought it was interesting. I doubt fighting evil moose from outer space has anything to do with life at all. But sometimes my nightmares seriously freak me out...like last night I had one that I was being kidnapped or something, it was pretty scary. I don't know why either because I'm not under a lot of stress...I just get a lot of nightmares and they really upset me sometime.

I want to second Kae's warning of dream interpreters. Yes, God does give us dreams at times to warn us or something else, and
He must provide the interpretation (whether by giving you the revelation or someone else). Seeking interpretations from other sources can open you up to some dangerous stuff.
As far as the actual dream you have been having... I'm a tad concerned.
I seriously doubt the white wolf symbolizes God. He doesn't give me a peaceful feeilng, he sort of entrances me and I have to follow him. (You're not suggesting that I'm possessed, right?)
There is a big debate as to whether Christians can be possessed (in the sense of the word; ownership, etc) by demons but we wont get into that here for the sake of keeping the thread unlocked ^^
However, there may be something in your life that isn't surrendered to Jesus yet; Ask Jesus to point out anything that isn't right in your life, and be prepared to give it up if He does tell you to get rid of something. It may be something as small as a toy statue, or as big as a show you love watching every day.

I generally view that nightmares mostly reflect personal inner fears. I, for one, tend to dream that I'm running away from something terrifying such as brutal rapists, mythical creatures, evil spirits or just something/someone I desperately need to get away from.
I never pay too much attention to the 'form' of the nightmares (i.e. rapists, creatures..spirits) but rather the main theme of these dreams (i.e. running/fear). So if I were you, I wouldn't care what the wolf represents. I would only care how it made me feel in the dream. For such dreams, I loosely speculate that one needs to deal with lack of faith and trust in God, which leads to constant fear of the unknown.
When I dreamt of exorcism last week, I didn't pay too much attention to how scary the dream was. I sensed that God was telling me that He intends to exorcise certain 'demons' (bad spiritual habits) out from my life during my fast and warned me some of my sinful actions. I took comfort in that and that was it; just between me and God.
Be warned, though: Someone's speculations are just pointless speculations if you don't hear it from God. Don't waste too much time asking other ppl's opinions: Best to ask God personally.
Alright, enough yakking by Mave. That was merely my personal sharing on dreams. I will pray for you and hope that you'll find what God wants you to pay attention to.

How can interpreting dreams be dangerous? I don't get it. Personally that interpretation made a lot of sense to me.
PostPosted: Sat Nov 05, 2005 6:37 pm

It is placing trust outside of God...the same reason why He forbids us from using mediums to contact the dead. We are to trust HIM with our lives, not our dreams. If you believe what someone outside of God tells you about your dreams, it could bring you down a path He doesn't want you to go. For example, you said:
To dream that you are a werewolf, suggests that some aspects of your personality are hurtful and even dangerous to your own well-being. You are headed down an undesirable path.
What if you are headed down the CORRECT path, where God wants you to go? But your interpretation states that this path is undesirable. This could conceivably make you head in a different direction with your life, a direction God did not want you to take.
That is how it can be dangerous.

Heart of Sword wrote:How can interpreting dreams be dangerous? I don't get it. Personally that interpretation made a lot of sense to me.
Accuracy is not always a good indicator for whether or not an interpretation comes from God. Demons have powers too; people wouldn't go to fortune tellers or dream interpreters if there wasn't some aspect of 'truth' or accuracy there. The difference is that God's interpretations and revelations are always intended to help you, whereas demons are only to hurt and cripple you. Words or interpretations might be accurate or make sense, but if they don't come from God they are very very dangerous.
Edit: XD I agree with kae

Don't worry, I'm not one to believe something blindly. Personally I think being a werewolf is a good thing...so being a werewolf in my dream would very, very likely mean something positive rather than negative. I never said I'm letting this dream take control of my life, but I'm tired of nightmares. However I haven't had a nightmare in a few days, which is...nice.

as for dream interpetations read GENESIS 40:8-23 and GENSIS Chapter 41
and DANIEL Chapter 2
in GENESIS verse 8 Joseph says "Do not interpretations belong to God? Tell me your dreams."
trust me I realy dont want to offend anyone especialy another Christian
but I realy Couldnt care less what some phycaitrist says, no man can truly interpet dreams with human logic
Pray to GOD and trust me He will answer you
(i Know you werent saying to listen to phycartrists or that they themselves
always have 100 percent confidence in there interpretations but i realy want to stay far away from the way they interpret them)
[quote="Talame"]
However, there may be something in your life that isn't surrendered to Jesus yet]
I agree with talame here
Pray and listen to GOD. and read your BIBLE, GOD will never contradict His word
and Read JOHN 16:23-24 GOD Will Answer You, you just have to ask
In Jesus Name and Listen

Nightmares can come from fears or just random things around you.
I have nightmares almost every night.
Now I haven’t been feeling emotionally good lately but I've had dreams where I’ve killed people, where I'm dying and seeing people be killed.
I think the best way to stop having bad dreams is to not worry about them.
I hiss at people sometimes, mostly just for fun though...mostly
