Family heart issues

Postby freerock1 » Thu Sep 29, 2005 7:42 am

Hey all,

I guess it's my turn to ask for prayer... I wanted to ask for some prayer for members of my family. First, an uncle of mine is in the hospital. From what I understand, the doctors believe he barely swerved a major heart attack. They're saying that he did suffer a mild one, but nothing like what was probably about to happen if he hadn't gone to the hospital, and of course if not for God's hand on him. He's in his 60s, though he stays so active you wouldn't think it. He's also an awesome worker for the Lord; he's the type that can just go up to someone and start witnessing to them. (He even got to witness to Cincinnati Reds legend Joe Nuxhaul once in a restaurant.) Apparently the Lord wasn't done using him down here. (To those I've told about my uncle with cancer, this is a different uncle. But he's still pretty close to my branch of the family.)

So in rejoicing with those who rejoice, thank God that he pulled through this and didn't suffer what could have happened. Please pray for his quick recovery. And pray that the Lord would use this for good; the one downside to his lifestyle habits is that he hasn't been the most healthy eater. He also has a son who doesn't take the best care of himself. Pray that if it be God's will, He would use this as a wake-up call to both of them to start taking better care of themselves.

Also, please pray for my mom. She had kind of a bad chest pain the other night. I offered to take her to the hospital, but she's hardcore at times when it comes to that kind of thing. She hasn't had any more problems like this, but especially with what happened to my uncle it's kind of scary.

And although this is small, pray for the rest of us, that we'd be able to stay on top of things and not get too stressed out. With some projects I'm involved in plus spending time in the ER the other night, I've been pulling some pretty late hours, and still getting up to go to work in the mornings. I know this is small in comparison, but while you're praying anyway, I can always use lifted up as well. :)

Thanks for all your prayers.

Peace

I will most definitely pray. Because of your family history, make sure to take care of yourself too, huh?

yes u will be in my prayers too
The Letter from God Dear child, Despite your silence, I have heard your soul weeping. Why have you been so unhappy? Have you forgotten my everlasting love for you? Child, you are mine. Why have you not called my name sooner? If you seek me, I will answer. I am your counselor, ready to instruct you and show you which path to take. When you come to me, I will embrace you and silence all your fears. Just remember that I am here to hold you close and dry your tears. I will always be right beside you. Not only am I your father, but your best friend. Do not be afraid to ask for my mercy and forgiveness. I know that its hard to live on earth, so I understand when you fall down once in awhile, ask me for help, and I will pick you up and carry you. No one loves you more than I do. When you feel alone, remember I am beside you. When you feel helpless, remember I offer myself to you. When you feel lost, remember I will lead you, and when you feel forgotten, remember that you are my child and I will love you unconditionally. It is never too late to come home. I will be here waiting, ready to embrace you. I will leave the light on for you. Forever with you, God

Thanks, all, for your prayers. A quick update... He was dismissed from the hospital today. He's doing a lot better than he was, but as of this evening he had some swelling in his arms and legs... not a good thing for those with heart problems. So he still could use your prayers.

And dragonshimmer, thanks for your comment. :) I try to take care of myself, though I confess I don't always do the best job of it. I certainly need to be taking care of myself, though; my mom's mom also has heart problems and my dad's dad I believe died of a heart attack at a fairly young age. Plus there are a few instances of high blood pressure and cancer in my family, so I definitely need to be doing what I can to make sure it doesn't hit me.
