Hello.

You are all probably wondering why I haven't been here in so long. Well, to tell you the honest truth, I stopped being a Christian. That is to say, I still believe in God, but I started hating him, and especially a large portion, though not all, of his followers (fundamentalists in particular).

Now, after some thinking (and demonic attacks x_x) I might, MIGHT be willing to just talk to him, see what he wants. I will go into details later, as it is very late at night and I'm dead tired. However, just as some questions...

Can I still be bisexual, but still be Christian, so long as I try my best not to fall in love or go out with a guy? Since relationships at this point make me feel icky, it isn't a problem right now.. (I have tried fighting them in the past, but actual bisexual thoughts are inevitable for me, sorry..)

Can I be a socialist, and still be a Christian? Is God against socialism? Many Christians have told me that I am evil and Satanic for supporting socialism and left-wing economies and I cannot worship a God who stands for capitalism... it's like organized greed ._.;;

Does God want Christianity to rule the US? Does he support banning or putting down other viewpoints by force or legislation?

and

Can I still be marginally pro-choice, and a Christian?

Just please try to answer me as best as you can. Thank you...

I'm sorry if this is a bad thing to post, I'm not trying to stir up a controversy, but I just really need to know these things..This isn't a debate I'm looking for, just knowledge on things that are very important to me.... Please don't ban me.. I just don't have anyone to ask these things at the moment and I'm very.. on edge right now. I don't want a debate, just tell me how you feel..

Thank you, I'm sorry... I'll leave if you want me to

Ross

Sorry again

that's painful Mr_Ross. i'm not saying that what you wrote was bad. It just hurts for me to think of a Christian quitting.
Remember that God has always wanted the best for you.
If you remember Job, God let Satan trash him until he's only got his loincloth, but Job still worshipped God. That is a Christian. As I've heard from a lot of people, God never said that being a Christian was easy.
God let problems happen to build our character, and also to test us. I've had a lot of problems that i've come to the point where it's okay for me to die. Believe me. I've felt this way. But because of those experiences, i began to look at the bible as a sanctuary where God can comfort me.

Please. Do come back to Christ.

i'll be praying definitely for you.

I'll be praying too. You're asking some good questions, and I hope soon you'll find your answers.

Hey, Mr. Ross. I'd actually been thinking about you recently, and I've said a few prayers for you since your last visit.

First and foremost, welcome back. And I'd like to talk to you about some things, but I'd rather say them through PM and only if you want me to discuss it with you. I think it might help, but you may be getting plenty of other PM's, so if you want to talk about it, then PM me and I'll reply. I'm willing to talk with you.

I'll be praying in the meantime. :thumb:

However, I do believe I can think of several Christians in history from my reading that were actually socialists.

That's a loaded question if I've ever seen one, and if any proponents were to take that view, not likely.

What margin, within our culture "pro-choice" ranges from callous infanticide, to the equivalent of "natural abortions" (i.e. circumstances where the body itself wipes the baby out because they don't have a chance at all of survival, or stuff like miscarriages) or the saving of the mother's life. It would be pitiful, though possible I guess sadly, to be a Christian and promote such grievous injustice and defacement of the EVER-LIVING's good creation.

God forgives us if we repent. Homosexual thoughts are no worse than any other sin. Just keep praying that God will guide your thoughts. Whenever you have homosexual thoughts, pray that God will strengthen you. I am a dancer, so I know plenty about homosexuality and the influence of homosexual thoughts. Don't beat yourself up over it, but don't just give in either. It's a battle. I will especially pray about this for you. Thought patterns are the hardest habits to break.

Hey man, it's good to see you're still around...

Can you be a socialist and a christian? I doubt God is Republican and I doubt He's a democrat. God' is above all that. Man's law isn't God's law; they all fall short. Me and my friend since 5th grade have total opposite view points when it comes to politics and we are both believers in Christ. Heck, capitalism has it's negative aspects too- like the only concern is profit. Some ideals about socialism aren't that bad such as collective cooperation and social service. So I don't think you should really worry about that too much.

"Does God want Christianity to rule the US? Does he support banning or putting down other viewpoints by force or legislation?"

Christ is full of love and concern. He cares dearly for everyone. The lord may be against certain things, but I doubt He would be for putting people down. Jesus forgives. He forgave the prostitute, the thief on the cross and etc. And yes the Lord wishes for everyone to believe in Christ, but people whether christian, buddist etc... are influenced my evil. To be honest, if everyone followed the law:
MAT 22:39 Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

The world would be a much better place.

I can't point my fingers at other sinners because I sin myself. But I always strive to be better.

It seems like you have a lot on your mind, so I can understand your confusion. Perhaps I didn't address all your issues, but have faith in the Lord; things will work out. I'll continue to keep you in my prayers. Take care bud.

You sound an awful lot like another person we've run into in the past...

The Bible makes it clear that homosexuality and bisexuality are both sins. Of course, all Christians sin, but no Christian should simply resign any section of their life over to any sin, no matter what it is. If you wanna get back into Christianity, you're gonna have to ask Christ to give you power to beat back such evil ways, and trust me, He will if you seek Him with all your heart.

Also, since you brought it up, I will say that yes, there are problems with following the left wing right now. As one of the admins said (forget which one and where, but I remember at least one of them saying this), it's a definite problem with one's walk with God when they support the political group that promotes the killing of unborn humans. Of course, nothing matters as much to your soul's health as your walk with Christ (or lack thereof); Political association isn't something that God looks at when He decides whether or not we get into heaven or not... but by the Bible's teachings, we are obligated to actively support those political groups and principles that stick with the Word of God and Christian principles.

I will pray that you clear things up with God and renew your walk with Jesus Christ.

As mentioned, the Bible clearly speaks against homosexuality - male and female varieties.

The capitolist system that we employ here in the states is not the root of all evil either. Socialism wants to "redistribute the wealth", but if you notice - all countries that fall into Socialism are poor. There is no incentive to "get ahead" because everyone is "Equal", except they still have the rich - running the country who don't wish to share the wealth. It's a pattern that's repeated itself, and part of the reason Gov. Arnold is a Republican. But I'm not here to discuss polotics, but the state of your Soul.

One really good thing about Truly being Christian, is we do not have to worry about being demon posessed. Another thing is, we have the Great Comforter, Mentor, Councelor, Rock, Foundation, Love... God is our Everything.

2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.
8 We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;
9 Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;

Does God want Christianity to rule the US?

- That one is entirely up to the Lord. But our Country was founded Primarily by Christians, many of whom were clergymen themselves. Even Thomas Jefferson had great respect of Christianity even though he was not one. He wanted the only two required books in School to be the Holy Bible, and a Hymnal. As we've slid further from the Christian Center, and have even been losing our support of Israel, yes we are falling into decay, and at some point it will lead to the persecution of Christians here as it is in other countries such as China. In china, it's illegal to be a Bible -toting - Gospel Preaching Christian, to the point where you are put to death if you're public about it. They have Government enforced Atheism. This country may be pocket rich, but it is spirit poor.

Genesis 12:1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee:
2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:
3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

If you never do come to Christ, though I pray you do - then I hope you will at least not be hostile toward us.

(btw, hurricaine Katrina hit us within 3 days of a decision concerning Israel where we [the USA] supported forking over land... coincidence? I think not)
Your arms are too short to box with God.

The important thing is that you not let stereotypes or things that you find difficult to understand or believe keep you back from God.

He can help you find out what's true. But find Jesus. Because the answers are all in Him. And not just the outward answers, but the ones you need in your own life.

I am living proof of this. Prayers, man. :thumb:

I'm going to close the thread at this point since it's only going to snowball.

Mr_Ross, there are people on here that were willing to PM you to discuss the issue. Please take them up on it and read what they have to say. I'll pray for you as well, and wish you all the best.
