I'm going through a hard time right now. It pretty much dawned on me that I'm not going to graduate on time, and for that I feel like a failure. Also, I'm having a really hard time in some really hard chemistry and math classes (calc 3 and P. Chem). Please. Please just pray for me. I really really need it right now. Thanks guys, and may God bless you.

Oh man, Saint, I am praying for you as we speak. I'm so sorry you can't graduate this year, but don't beat yourself up for it, man.

Due to personal things that I've done here in my University that I'm in, I actually have to take another year to get my degree. Don't worry, your not the only one with this problem.

You're totally not a failure, you just need to try harder, push forward, and drive yourself to the max. We can't expect to succeed at everything sometimes.

I consider myself a failure, but that just tells me to go even further and by having God by our sides, there's no limit to what we can do. We just have to try our best, even if we fail the first time. We just have to get ourselves back up, to keep on going and finish those things we need to finish in able to succeed, like graduating.

It's so tough to do.

But keep going buddy. God doesn't see you as a failure, He sees you as someone who likes to make mistakes, learns from them, and never quits.

Take care, we believe in you.

Prayers and God bless,
CephasVII

Good. It's not until you realize that you can't do something that you really rely on God in that area. He wants to make you look awesome - but you can't be crediting it to yourself, that's the main thing.

Just rely on God, ask His help, and take His instruction. Even if what He says sounds a bit wierd, He's always right, and if He tells you something that sounds strange, that just means that you would have gotten that wrong.

So cheer up, feeling like this now means that you can turn to Him in these areas before you run into problems for relying on your own power.
The cake used to be a lie like you, but then it took a portal to the deception core.

aww poor kevy! ToT/ i know how that is...when i first started my senior year i thought i wasn't going to graduate with my class...and have my family harp on me and crap...but then i found that i will be able to...but b4 i found that out...i thought, "if i don't there's always next year...and who cares about what my family thinks." yes of course i want to graduate with my class...but i'm not going to feel stressed just bcuz of my family...i mean they already stress me out as it is! lol things will work out for the best...just keep trusting Him.

"The advice I like to give young artists, or really anybody who’ll listen to me, is not to wait around for inspiration. Inspiration is for amateurs; the rest of us just show up and get to work. If you wait around for the clouds to part and a bolt of lightning to strike you in the brain, you are not going to make an awful lot of work. All the best ideas come out of the process; they come out of the work itself. Things occur to you. If you’re sitting around trying to dream up a great art idea, you can sit there a long time before anything happens. But if you just get to work, something will occur to you and something else will occur to you and something else that you reject will push you in another direction. Inspiration is absolutely unnecessary and somehow deceptive. You feel like you need this great idea before you can get down to work, and I find that’s almost never the case." - Chuck Close[/color]

Hi, Kevin. *Hugs* It's ok. I know that not everyone has the chance to graduate on time, let alone early. I know it's a big disappointment, but you can get through it. I'll be praying, buddy. If I can help out, let me know. :hug:

Not graduating in four years does not make you a failure, nor is four years necessarily "on time."

How very true.

I'm praying for you, Kevin. It doesn't make you a failure. I started college in the Fall of 99 and I still have two semesters left. Most of it is due to the fact that I keep having to take time off and save money to pay for school, but some of it IS from failing. I know it's hard to stay focused, but it's the result of making poor decisions or lack of motivation, NOT being a failure. God doesn't make failures. You CAN do this, Kevin.

The truth is, the majority of college students DON'T graduate "on time", and really what is "on time"? Every person is different, they have different life struggles, different pasts. *hugs* You can do it, Kevin, I have faith in you. We can do ALL things through Christ.

You know how to contact me, and I'm here if you need me. : ) You're in my prayers.

Your not a failure. I don't think many people take only 4 years to graduate. I took 6 years. I'll be praying for you.

I agree.
Most degrees are about 128-136 credit hours. Full time students take at least 12 credit hours each semester. For many it's really difficutl to graduate with-in 4yrs time frame if someone works or has other priorities. 4yr plans are usually for people taking like 16-17 a semester. Currently I'm on a 4 1/2 - 5yr plan because of switching majors or not taking 15hrs every semester. I'm trying for the 4 1/2yr one though. But like kazekami said, I also don't know many who graduated in 4yrs.

But I'll be praying for your studies and graduation. I know it'll all work out. Just remember, whatever happens, you're not a failure. The fact you in college and going to graduate soon is a huge accomplishment.

Good luck bud. :thumb:

I needed a minimum of 180 total credits in order to graduate. I thought it'd take a bit longer, but it didn't.

I understand what you are going through. I have had to put off my own graduation for TWO YEARS because of some personal stuff. I will FINALLY be done this December. Anyways, please don't think of yourself as a failure. I know of MANY peole who haven't graduated when they were "supposed" to. I use the quotes around the word "supposed" because everything in it's own time...in God's time. I ask you to please try to not see yourself as a failure because I, again, would have probably finished a year ago if I had not seen myself as a failure. I alowed myself to fail because I saw myself as such...not that I am saying you are anything like me...
anyways, I will pray for you. God bless you and keep you well.

When you look at the grand scale of things, not graduating this year does not even remotely make you a failure. I mean, think about all the things, big or small, that you've accomplished in your life and think about all the possibilities of things you will accomplish in the future. When you look at it that way, not graduating this year might seem like less of a big deal to you, everybody has setbacks and everybody fails at something-- so don't beat yourself up over it ;) I'll pray for ya!
Be Thou my Vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that Thou art
Thou my best Thought, by day or by night,
Waking or sleeping, Thy presence my light.

Be Thou my Wisdom, and Thou my true Word;
I ever with Thee and Thou with me, Lord;
Thou my great Father, I Thy true son;
Thou in me dwelling, and I with Thee one.

Be Thou my battle Shield, Sword for the fight;
Be Thou my Dignity, Thou my Delight;
Thou my soul’s Shelter, Thou my high Tower:
Raise Thou me heavenward, O Power of my power.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s empty praise,
Thou mine Inheritance, now and always:
Thou and Thou only, first in my heart,
High King of Heaven, my Treasure Thou art.

High King of Heaven, my victory won,
May I reach Heaven’s joys, O bright Heaven’s Sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my Vision, O Ruler of all.

You have plenty of time left Kevin. You're not a failure just because you didn't graduate exactly within four years. You had other setbacks and obligations I'm sure but they weren't your fault.

Whoever decided that failure = not graduating in 4 years? :shady:

It's Ok, Saint Kevin, you graduate according to God's timing, not how the rest of the world thinks it ought to be done. You're in good Hands.

We'll pray for you to get through these difficult courses. Been there, done that. brother. Stay strong, you will overcome. :thumb:

Lifting you. And don't be discouraged; a LOT of people nowadays don't finish their bachelor's degree for 5 or even 6 years.
