I will also pray for ya. I'm glad you're trying to deal with it now rather then later. The longer people wait, the harder the addiction is to break. Continue to be strong man.

I will be praying for you, and that you can overcome this terrible temptation.

I just wrote this for someone else, but it looks like you could use it too...

Your not the only one with that problem. There are a lot of people who suffer much the same as you do. But admiting you have a problem is the first step in getting better. Here is a verse that helps me when I am faced with this temptation...

1 Corinthians 6:9-20
Do you not know that the wicked will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor male prostitutes nor homosexual offenders nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

"Everything is permissible for me"—but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is permissible for me"—but I will not be mastered by anything. "Food for the stomach and the stomach for food"—but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, "The two will become one flesh." But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit.

Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.

Remember the key is to "honor God with your body" and flee from the evil that wishes to consume and destory you. Your not alone in your struggles, and you can beat it. God will help.

+++++

This weekend the Lord showed me the meaning of “honoring God with our bodies.â€

This guy in the other thread has the same problem! I'm givin' you exactly what I gave him:

I'm praying for you!

It must be hard to admit. I wouldn't have the guts to do that if I was addicted...
Before being Christian I was, infact. And my friend was a prostitute/stripper before she got saved...

Anyways, I'll give you some scripture to help you out:

Jesus said:
Matthew 5:28-30
28 But I say to you that whoever looks at a woman to lust for her has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to sin, pluck it out and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is more profitable for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell.
NKJV

Galatians 5:16-26

I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh. 17 For the flesh lusts against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; and these are contrary to one another, so that you do not do the things that you wish. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

19 Now the works of the flesh are evident, which are: adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lewdness, 20 idolatry, sorcery, hatred, contentions, jealousies, outbursts of wrath, selfish ambitions, dissensions, heresies, 21 envy, murders, drunkenness, revelries, and the like; of which I tell you beforehand, just as I also told you in time past, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. 24 And those who are Christ's have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit. 26 Let us not become conceited, provoking one another, envying one another.
NKJV

The flesh is stupid man, you can blame Adam for that one...

And do yourself a favour and read Proverbs 6, and Ezekiel 23. Proverbs is about not letting yourself get tempted by an adulteress, and the ezekiel one's about two harlots...

hope those scriptures were of any help! ;)

I'll continue to pray for you, bro. Being used in the music ministry is definately a battle ground, whether it's leading worship or being part of a Christian band and performing. It's hard enough to keep your focus on the Lord while you're playing and when you add people's compliments on top of that, then it can add up to a nasty build up of pride (not that compliments are bad, but they must be taken in the right way). I know that when I was in a band, I was doing it for the wrong reasons a lot of times. Remember Matthew 5:8: Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
