Financial and emotional help

Postby Cinra » Thu Jul 07, 2005 8:54 pm

A few prayer requests...

The first would be for financial help...we are always struggling to pay the bills and often times go into the red in our bank account. We are somewhat newly weds. My husband works and I work...but we still seem to just barely stay out of debt and losing it all. We even live with his parents. :) Much prayer needed! :hits_self

My mother-in-law's dad died very recently, so emotional prayer support for her is really needed as she is still dealing with the grief. We need the same prayer...

My husband can't sleep at night....he will be dead tired before he goes to bed, but the second he lays down in bed he is wide awake for hours. He ends up taking sleeping pills and being very groggy the next day. Please pray that God puts him to sleep. <grin>

Also please pray that my husband and I grow closer to God...that we are able to find things to do that bring us closer to Him. Because it seems like we always do the same things and it never really works...praying and reading the bible just isn't enough... :bang: :hits_self

I will be praying for you and your family.

On the topic of growing closer to God, remember "Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding." (Proverbs 3:5) It is an important verse when doubts come along. You can't always have a mountain top experience with God, sometimes he calls us into the desert. Take for example Jesus. One of the personal high points of his life was when God descended down to him after he was baptized. Spiritual high right there. But then what? Well its off to the desert for 40 days with out food to be tempted by the Devil. Remember, it is not the good times that we grow closer to the Lord, but the times of turmoil and struggles that teach us to rely on God, even when we can't see him. Take for example Job, there was a man who had everything taken from him, he had nothing, not his family, not his possessions, not his friends, not even his health! He had nothing. Job said, “But if I go to the east, he is not there; if I go to the west, I do not find him. When he is at work in the north, I do not see him; when he turns to the south, I catch no glimpse of him." (Job 23:8-9) God just wasn't there, when Job looked for him. All Job saw was his troubles, and no loving God. But God was working for good, and Job knew this. Even though he did not understand how, Job knew God was there, and the almighty was working for good,[I] "But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold.â€
Live your life, love the Lord, and don't forget to laugh...
