Ow. Pain.

This is the most painful sore throat that I've ever had to endure. My throat keeps feeling like it wants to swell itself shut. I don't know about tonsilectomies, or when they are employed, but I wouldn't rule out the need for that just yet.

I really need to go to the doc, but with my school schedule this week, I probably won't get there until at least Friday, which means I'm just going to have to suffer for a while. Praise God this kind of thing is only temporary. But yeah, pray; it will help.

I know you feel the extreme need to catch up with school, but your health affects your performance in school too, Kevin. Please take care of yourself, okay? I'll pray that God heals you quickly since it's crucial for you to be at your best right now. Have you tried some Riccola cough drops or chloraseptic spray? *hugs*

Mmm...chloraseptic spray. That stuff is fantastic. Haven't had any yet, but my dentist did shoot my mouth full of lidocaine on friday, so that numbed up everything pretty well.

Talk about a quick answer to prayer. I didn't think that I'd see the doc till the end of the week, but thanks to my mom knowing an ear, nose and throat doctor personally (she gets to know a lot of docs with the whole being a massage therapist and all) I got to go to the doc just an hour ago.

The diagnosis: Acute bacterial tonsilitis. If it's recurring, I'll need to have my tonsils removed, but for the time being, I'll just take some hardcore antibiotics and hopefully be ok for a while.

So yeah, God is good. Thanks for the prayers and the sympathy everyone, but I think I'll be alright now.

I've been there before, Kevin. I had a sore throat that hurt so bad my tonsils were super swollen. I ALMOST needed to go in to have them removed, but I recovered, and I still have them. I'll be praying. Going in for surgery (even oral surgery) can give a person anxiety.
