I have a friend from another forum. His name is Alan and his wife Lynne is going to have surgery Wednesday relating to breast cancer with which she has been recently diagnosed. Please pray for them as they're going through this terrible ordeal.

Thank you.

Thanks for your prayers, everyone. I have an update but unfortunately its not the best of news.

Alan wrote:Lynne and I would like to thank each and every one of you for your prayers. Things have not gone as well as they could have done and complications continue. The week before the operation Lynne was diagnosed with a heart murmur, one of the valves of her heart is not functioning correctly. As a consequence of this the surgeon felt she could not start re-constructive surgery at the time of the mastectomy. Both the issues surrounding re-construction and the heart murmur will have to be dealt with at a later stage. On top of this Lynne has developed pneumonia on her right side while in hospital. This is an unexpected setback and means that she has no immediate prospect of leaving hospital. Sadly eight days ago Lynne’s mother passed away. Lynne had been her mother’s constant carer for fifteen years. Lynne’s mother was a stroke victim who was confined to a wheelchair with no movement in her legs or left arm. In her last days Lynne’s mother was in a hospital in Derby and we were told in the early hours of Tuesday 26 April that she was going fast. We stayed with her until noon when we had to return home to get Lynne’s case and take her into Nottingham City Hospital. Lynne’s mother died at half past five that afternoon without gaining consciousness. Although the hospital will not discharge Lynne they will let her out for short periods so I am collecting her and taking her to vote in our general election tomorrow. She will also be able to attend her mother’s funeral on Friday, then she has to return to the ward. The heart problems and the issues of re-construction mean that Lynne is facing long periods of hospitalisation over the next few years in order to get her back to full health.

Once again we thank everybody for their prayers.
